What we are looking for:
We are looking for experienced software engineers excited to help drive our product and infrastructure development at rapid scale for our Credit Card Authorization platform. Galileo removes the complexities of payments, so companies can focus on providing their customers with excellent card issuing and peerless digital banking experiences.
What you’ll do:
On the Pathfinder Authorization and Settlement team, you will be in the middle of it all – architecting our system, partnering with EMs and PMs on product direction, prompting engineering and operational excellence, mentoring other engineers, and solving some of the most difficult issues in the system. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through building, testing, deploying, monitoring and supporting mission critical systems.
You’ll face and solve a wide range of challenges: technical, product, and operational, shaping your personal growth and career along the way, as well as helping mold and grow the members of the team.
- Lead a team with technical designs, organized work, and coding and testing.
- Write, test, and deploy maintainable, reliable, performant, scalable code to production
- Deliver highly available services in a production environment and be responsible for the monitoring and ability to quickly respond to incidents.
- Participate in a 24/7 pager-rotation for services that the team develops
- Generate ideas for new initiatives, architectural and code refactoring, and introduction of new technologies.
- Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team ensuring high trust and collaboration.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams on joint projects.
What you’ll need:
- Ability to lead a team's technical direction, and mentor engineers in technical leadership.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack.
- Object oriented programming experience including scaling, performance optimization, and code architecture using optimal patterns (e.g. Python, Java, C#, we use Python)
- Demonstrated expertise with data store and microservices architecture in a cloud.
- Demonstrated ability to design resilient software components within a distributed system.
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Delivery principles and techniques, including full suite automation tests and build & deploy pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience with monitoring and alerting tools
Nice to have:
- 3+ years experience with Python
- Experience working with Fintech

$153,600 - $264,000 USD
