Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and evolve key capabilities within the Deposits domain of our Core Banking platform.

This role is a senior individual contributor position responsible for shaping product direction, translating business and customer needs into scalable platform capabilities, and delivering measurable outcomes in partnership with engineering.

You will work closely with an Engineering Manager (EM) in a dual-track agile model, owning the what and why of the product while collaborating on how and when execution happens.

Product Scope & Impact (IC4)

  • Owns one or more end-to-end product areas within the Deposits domain (e.g., account lifecycle, balances, interest, postings, statements, configuration, internal ledger integrations, transactions).
  • Drives multi-quarter product initiatives and roadmap outcomes for their domain.
  • Iterates on existing features and identifies new capabilities or product suites that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, or platform scalability.
  • Creates clarity from ambiguity by defining problem statements, success metrics, and prioritization frameworks.
  • Aligns deposit domain initiatives with adjacent domains and broader Core Banking and Banking Software strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Discovery

  • Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for assigned deposit capabilities.
  • Translate business, regulatory, and customer needs into clear product outcomes and initiatives.
  • Make informed trade-offs between speed, quality, scalability, and regulatory requirements.

Delivery & Execution

  • Own and maintain a prioritized product backlog with clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with the Engineering Manager on sprint planning, sequencing, and release planning.
  • Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and day-to-day team execution.

Stakeholder & Customer Collaboration

  • Act as the primary product interface for business, operations, compliance, risk, and technology stakeholders.
  • Ensure deposit products meet functional, regulatory, and operational requirements without unnecessary complexity.
  • Communicate product direction clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.

Technical & Platform Awareness

  • Apply strong understanding of core banking concepts and architectures (e.g., accounts, postings, interest calculation, batch vs. real-time processing).
  • Drive product decisions that support scalable, resilient, and maintainable platform design.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture on build vs. buy vs. deprecate decisions.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 7–12+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years in Product Management roles for complex technology platforms.
  • Mandatory experience working in:
    • Banks, banking technology providers, or fintech companies (B2B or B2C financial services platforms).
    • Experience in US regulated financial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering platform or domain-heavy products (core banking, payments, lending, ledger, financial infrastructure, or regulated platforms).
  • Experience working in agile Scrum teams with close PM–Engineering Manager collaboration.
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity, define strategy, and deliver incremental value in complex environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with core banking platforms (e.g., Temenos, Thought Machine, Mambu, Finxact, FIServe, FIS, JackHenry or similar).
  • Experience with APIs, microservices architectures, or cloud-native platforms.
