The Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Manager Team Lead to guide a team responsible for defining, building, and scaling our Core Banking platform capabilities for the Mexican consumer banking market. This role sits at the intersection of product leadership, market expertise, and regulatory fluency—empowering banks and fintechs to launch and manage compliant, competitive deposit and lending products tailored to retail consumers in Mexico.

As a team lead, you will oversee a group of product managers and partner with engineering, compliance, operations, and commercial teams to evolve the platform in line with local banking laws, consumer expectations, and emerging fintech innovation. You will help shape the future of savings accounts (cuentas de ahorro), payroll accounts (cuentas de nómina), promissory notes (pagarés), and consumer credit (crédito personal), among others.

What you’ll do:

Leadership & People Management

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product managers focused on the consumer banking segment.
    • Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, customer-centricity, and regulatory awareness across the team.
    • Prioritize product roadmaps and team resources based on business objectives, customer needs, and compliance risks.

Product Strategy & Execution

    • Define and continuously refine the product vision and roadmap for core banking modules supporting retail deposit and lending products in Mexico.
    • Ensure product alignment within the full customer lifecycle and related systems—onboarding, servicing, payments, collections, and closure.
    • Partner with engineering and UX to deliver scalable, secure, and performant APIs and UIs that power bank-grade consumer experiences.

Market & Regulatory Alignment

    • Stay up to date with CNBV (Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores), Banxico, CONDUSEF, and SAT regulatory requirements that affect core banking functions, including:
      • AML/KYC (Prevención de Lavado de Dinero)
      • Open Banking under the Mexican Fintech Law (Ley Fintech)
      • Payroll portability (portabilidad de nómina)
      • Interest rate caps, usury limits, and consumer disclosures
      • Credit reporting and data sharing with Sociedades de Información Crediticia (e.g., Buró de Crédito, Círculo de Crédito)
    • Translate these regulatory requirements into product requirements, system capabilities, and compliance configurations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Serve as a key product contact for internal teams (sales, legal, compliance, implementation) and external partners (banks, fintechs, regulators).
    • Influence go-to-market strategies, pricing, and packaging in collaboration with commercial teams.
    • Act as a thought leader on local market trends, competitive dynamics, and platform differentiation.

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of product management experience in banking, fintech, or core banking technology, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Previous experience at a core banking provider, digital bank, or fintech operating in Mexico.
  • Strong domain knowledge of consumer banking products in Mexico—especially checking accounts, savings, term deposits, unsecured loans, and payroll-linked loans.
  • Experience building or configuring core banking systems, including general ledger, product engines, customer/account modules, and transaction processing.
  • Familiarity with local standards in areas such as account aliasing (CLABE).
  • Understanding of Mexican accounting, tax withholding on deposits, and interest accrual conventions.
  • Proven experience with Mexican banking regulations and comfort working closely with compliance/legal teams.
  • Experience in agile software development methodologies and a strong technical understanding of APIs and banking system integrations.
  • Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English, with strong written and verbal communication in both.

Success in this Role Looks Like:

  • Built a High-Performing Team
You’ve developed a cohesive, motivated product team with clear ownership across the product stack. Team members are empowered, aligned to company goals, and consistently delivering high-quality product requirements. They collaborate effectively with engineering, demonstrate deep domain and regulatory expertise, and contribute meaningfully to product planning and execution.
  • Owned and Evangelized the Product Strategy
You’ve defined and communicated a focused, compelling product strategy for the Mexican market—balancing user needs, regulatory requirements, and platform constraints. Internal teams (commercial, implementation, support) are well-trained and enabled, and your strong cross-functional relationships accelerate time-to-market and improve client outcomes. You are widely regarded as a trusted expert on the Mexican retail banking landscape, influencing platform direction, sales conversations, and external messaging with clarity and authority.
  • Delivered Market-Relevant Capabilities
You’ve launched new features or product modules that directly address top-priority use cases in Mexican consumer banking. Product capabilities reflect a deep understanding of local customer needs, financial behaviors, and regulatory mandates—positioning our platform as the go-to infrastructure partner for retail banking in Mexico.
  • Embedded Regulatory Awareness in the Product DNA
You’ve partnered closely with Legal and Compliance teams to anticipate, interpret, and operationalize local regulations. These requirements are built into the platform as defaults, configuration options, and clear documentation—reducing implementation friction, mitigating risk, and increasing client confidence.
  • Enabled Customer Growth
Clients have successfully launched or scaled their retail banking offerings on our platform with minimal custom development or workarounds. You’ve proactively resolved product gaps, supported go-to-market motions, and guided clients through regulatory complexity. Client satisfaction is high, time-to-implementation is decreasing, and product adoption is accelerating.

What You’ll Gain:

  • The opportunity to shape the future of digital banking infrastructure in Mexico.
  • A leadership role in a high-growth, mission-driven company modernizing financial services.
  • The ability to make a tangible impact on financial inclusion and innovation in Latin America.

Why you’ll love working here:

  • Competitive salary packages and bonuses
  • Supplemental medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.
  • Generous vacation and holidays
  • Paid parental leave for eligible employees
  • Great health & well-being benefits including: telehealth parental support, subsidized gym program
  • Fully stocked kitchen (snacks and drinks)
