The role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Reconciliation & Settlement Analyst to support our BIN Sponsorship program. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reconciliation, settlement processing, network reporting, and exception handling across card issuing, program managers, and sponsor bank requirements. The ideal candidate understands card network flows, settlement timing, ledger management, and dispute/chargeback impacts.

 

What you’ll do

Reconciliation (Daily / Weekly / Monthly)

  • Reconcile cardholder transactions, ledger balances, program manager accounts, and sponsor bank settlement reports.
  • Match authorization files, clearing files, settlement files, and processor reports (e.g., issuing processor to issuing processor).
  • Validate interchange, fees, chargebacks, adjustments, and network assessments.
  • Identify, research, and resolve breaks or exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure alignment between internal systems, processor systems, and BIN Sponsor’s settlement ledger.

Settlement & Funding Operations

  • Prepare and process daily settlement entries, prefunding, ACH/Wire movements, and reserve account adjustments.
  • Monitor funding requirements for programs and escalate potential shortfalls.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers and Sponsor Bank teams for settlement cutoffs.
  • Validate funding instructions and settlement windows across Visa, Mastercard, or Discover networks.

Program & BIN Sponsorship Support

  • Maintain accurate records for each BIN/program, including settlement cycles, interchange targets, and contracted fee schedules.
  • Support onboarding of new program managers by setting up new reconciliation templates and settlement flows.
  • Ensure compliance with Network operating rules for money movement, reporting, and settlement accuracy.
  • Assist with audits, exams, and regulatory reporting (e.g., monthly BIN reports)

Exception Handling & Reporting

  • Manage failed settlements, disputes-related adjustments, settlement deltas, and negative balance conditions.
  • Produce daily/weekly dashboards on settlement performance, breaks, liquidity exposures, and trends.
  • Communicate root cause and remediation steps to stakeholders (Risk, Product, Program Management).

 

What you’ll need:

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years in reconciliation, settlement, or card issuing operations at a fintech, processor, or sponsor bank.
  • Strong understanding of card issuing flows: auth, clearing, settlement, interchange, and network fees.
  • Experience with at least one card processor (Marqeta, Galileo, i2c, Fiserv, Stripe Issuing, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data cleansing).
  • Familiarity with SQL a plus.
  • Advanced Level of English (Mandatory)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and high-volume data with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional issue resolution
