
Creative Producer, Social Video

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Creative Producer, Social Video to spearhead the creative direction and strategy for our editorial and branded social-first video team. As a key member of our content organization, you will be instrumental in shaping engaging and innovative video content across all GMG platforms, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and client partner expectations. This role requires a strong creative leader with a deep understanding of social media trends, video production, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Creative Direction & Ideation: Provide overarching creative direction, vision, and feedback on all social-first video content produced by the team. Lead and participate in brainstorms to generate innovative and platform-specific video concepts that resonate with target audiences.
- Creative Strategy & Planning: Define and outline the creative strategy for GMG's video output across various social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)in conjunction with our social strategy team. Stay ahead of digital trends and translate them into actionable creative approaches.
- Content Optimization: Ensure video content effectively balances brand priorities, performance best practices, and high creative standards to achieve internal and external KPIs. Work closely with the social strategy team to optimize content for engagement and growth.
- Client Partnership & Nimbleness: Understand and navigate client partner expectations, ensuring creative output aligns with their objectives while maintaining GMG's creative integrity. Develop and present creative concepts and production decks for sponsored content programs.
- Team Leadership & Development: Guide and mentor the social video team (including producers, creators, and shooter/editors), fostering their creative growth, autonomy and skill development in areas such as shooting, editing, and production. Manage workload, schedules, and provide constructive feedback.
- Creative Oversight: Oversee the creative vision and execution across ideation, storyboarding, shooting and editing across our brand, editorial, branded content and partner projects.
- Workflow & Process Improvement: Collaborate with key stakeholders to continuously develop and refine video workflows and processes for efficiency and creative excellence.
- Trend Awareness: Remain deeply entrenched in current social and pop-culture trends, events, and news, ensuring the team is agile and produces culturally relevant content.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with social, sales, and editorial teams to ensure seamless execution of video projects and alignment on goals.
- Talent & Resource Management: Identify and potentially manage freelance creator networks and video production vendors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in producing and developing video content for consumer-facing digital platforms, with a strong emphasis on social media.
- Proven experience in a creative leadership role, providing direction and strategy for video teams.
- A keen understanding of what drives performance and engagement on key social platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
- Demonstrated ability to ideate, develop, and execute successful social-first video content, including short-form video and series franchises.
- Experience creating sponsored or branded content for advertisers or clients.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate creative concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Experience directing talent and managing video crews.
- An instinct for telling compelling stories in the digital space, including experience writing for video.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving client needs.
- A strong portfolio showcasing successful social video campaigns and creative leadership.
Bonus Points:
- Experience video editing with Adobe Premiere or similar software.
- Experience using budgeting software.
- Experience conducting interviews in various settings.

Base Salary
$85,000 - $115,000 USD
