
Accounting Associate
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will support our daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, management of state and local tax accounts, and month-end closing activities.

Desired Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 0–4 years of professional experience in accounting or a related financial role (internships count!).
- Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced Excel (or Google Sheets) skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Unanet) is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with internal departments and external vendors.
- Integrity: Absolute discretion when handling confidential financial information.
- AI: Demonstrated interest in leveraging AI-driven accounting processes to improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Management: Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring all invoices and receipts are coded accurately.
- General Ledger: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Month-End Close: Support the Controller in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policy.
- Documentation: Maintain organized digital and physical financial records for audit preparedness.
- State and Local Tax: Assist in the preparation and timely filing of state and local tax returns, including sales and use tax, withholding, and unemployment insurance, ensuring strict adherence to multi-jurisdictional deadlines and regulatory requirements
- Ad Hoc Support: Assist with tax filings, audit requests, and special financial projects as assigned.
