The Role: 

The Lead Product Manager for Checkout & Payments will drive the strategy and execution for enhancing our checkout and payments experience. This role will focus on creating a seamless purchase experience by optimizing transaction costs, improving trust and conversion rates, and streamlining various payment options. The ideal candidate will have strong existing experience in checkout and payments product management, possess strong analytical skills, and be adept at leveraging data to inform decisions. This position will require close collaboration with business stakeholders, including Finance, Trust and Safety and Fan Operations to ensure a seamless post-purchase customer journey, directly contributing to our business's financial performance and user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the product roadmap for checkout and payments, focusing on transaction success, conversion optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Implement and manage A/B tests within the checkout flow to identify and capitalize on significant gains from small changes.
  • Research, evaluate, and integrate new payment options to cater to diverse customer preferences and optimize transaction costs.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to deliver seamless and intuitive checkout experiences.
  • Closely collaborate with Finance and Trust and Safety to ensure full alignment on cost efficacy and fraud management 
  • Partner with Fan Operations to ensure a cohesive and integrated post-purchase customer experience, addressing support needs and improving overall satisfaction.
  • Analyze payment trends, market developments, and competitor strategies to inform product decisions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to checkout conversion, payment success rates, and transaction costs.

Technical Skills:

  • Payment Processing Knowledge: Proficiency in understanding and working with various payment processing flows and technologies, including orchestration systems managing payment options and fraud management.
  • Experimentation Platforms: Ability to use and manage A/B testing and experimentation platforms.
  • SQL & Data Querying: Ability to write SQL queries to extract and analyze data related to payments and checkout performance.
  • API Understanding: Strong understanding of APIs for payment integrations and system connectivity.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively across teams including engineering, design, marketing, and operations, and communicate clearly with key stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex payment concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Ability to manage relationships with payment providers and third-party vendors.

Leadership Competencies:

  • Feature Ownership: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of significant product features within checkout and payments and drive them from concept to launch.
  • Influencing Product Direction: Ability to influence product direction through compelling data and insights related to payment optimization and user behavior.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Demonstrates strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities, especially when analyzing checkout funnels and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Proactive in identifying areas for conversion improvement and implementing solutions based on quantitative data analysis.
  • Risk Assessment for Payments: Ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with payment processing and fraud.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years directly focused on checkout, payments, or transaction optimization in a consumer-facing product. Proven experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization.
  • Other Requirements: Strong understanding of different payment options (credit cards, digital wallets, alternative payments) and their impact on transaction costs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Experience in a high-volume e-commerce or ticketing platform.
  • Other: Knowledge of global payment regulations and compliance standards.

Performance Metrics:

  • Drive  increase in payment success rate.
  • Reduction in average transaction costs 
  • Positive feedback from fans regarding post-purchase customer experience.
  • Successful implementation of new payment options within set timeframes.
  • Reduction in post purchase customer support inquiries.

At Gametime pay ranges are subject to change and assigned to a job based on specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.

$212,000 - $250,000 USD
