Investor Relations Analyst/Associate
Garda Capital Partners (Garda) is a multi-billion dollar alternative investment firm with over 21 years of experience deploying relative value strategies across fixed income markets for institutional investors. Garda has offices in Wayzata, New York City, West Palm Beach, Geneva, Zug, Copenhagen, Singapore, and Scottsdale.
Garda is looking to hire a highly skilled and motivated New York based Analyst/Associate to join its Investor Relations team with a primary focus on Client Service and Reporting. This position is a key component of Garda’s Investor Relations team and has a broad mandate covering client service and reporting responsibilities, as well as supporting capital development efforts, both of which are vital to the fulfillment of the company’s overall objectives. The selected individual will be responsible for meeting investors’ needs for various levels of information, including regular reporting and ad hoc requests; facilitating due diligence efforts with investors; providing internal management reporting; managing Garda’s customer relationship management database (Backstop); managing monthly transactions processes; developing and updating marketing memorandum; and helping to prepare for investor meetings/calls (presentation decks, briefing docs, etc.). The role will involve assisting the team with special projects related to both client servicing and capital development that will help with the overall strategic objectives of the IR team. This individual will also assist our Client Portfolio Manager, so a working understanding of financial markets is preferred.
Position Responsibilities
- Act as an additional point of contact with investors (existing and prospective) and with internal and external parties.
- Assist in the management of existing and prospective client requests.
- Assist with select investor (both current and prospective) meetings and calls and assist with advance meeting/call prep (scheduling, agenda, presentation decks, briefing docs, meeting notes and subsequent follow-up).
- Ensure timely production and delivery of regular client reporting on a weekly and monthly basis, including marketing presentations and due diligence requests, as well as help with responses to ad hoc requests.
- Serve as a liaison between investor, administrator, and internal parties (legal, compliance, accounting) to expedite timely processing of subscription, redemption, transfer, and related investment documentation.
- Manage the CRM system to ensure comprehensive records are kept of each client and prospective client, account information, contact information, distribution lists, log of meetings/calls/emails, etc.
- Keep all marketing collateral (including website) up to date to reflect current info, provide timely insights into client activity/news. Update online databases as needed with performance numbers/other data.
- Be able to act as an all-around contributor for whatever is needed to assist in all efforts as it relates to investor relations.
- Support Client Portfolio Manager by interacting with internal parties (investment, risk, business development) to assist in producing market commentary, performance attribution, trading themes commentary, competitive analysis, responses to technical client inquiries, as well as ad hoc requests.
- Complete special projects as needed.
Desired Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, finance, communications, or related field.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in investor relations, investment consulting, investment management, or relevant field.
- Hungry, passionate, diligent, results oriented, shows initiative, driven to succeed.
- Critical and strategic thinker, with the ability to independently problem-solve.
- Knowledge of alternative investment strategies with basic understanding of interest rate markets.
- Detail-oriented nature with meticulous execution and strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-energy, time-sensitive environment, with multi-tasking skills.
- Team-player with ability to work well with colleagues and clients at all levels; must work well under pressure, be adaptable in the face of changing priorities, and highly collaborative.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with Notion and CRM systems (Backstop or FolioMetrics preferred).
This role is also eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, healthcare plan, 401(k) matching program, etc. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education.
Base Salary for this role is expected to be between:
$100,000 - $150,000 USD
