Senior Specialist or Director, Business Development
Garda Capital Partners (Garda) is a multi-billion dollar alternative investment firm with over 21 years of experience deploying relative value strategies across fixed income markets for institutional investors. Garda's primary offices are located in Wayzata, New York City, West Palm Beach, Geneva, Zug, Copenhagen, Singapore, and Scottsdale.
Garda is looking to hire a Senior Specialist or Director position in our Business Development function to work out of our Geneva office. The role will be responsible for full cycle talent acquisition, focused primarily on the investment team in Europe and helping with other regions and non-investment recruitment as necessary. The role will also work alongside the rest of the Human Capital Management (HCM) team on broader talent related projects.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the macro hedge fund universe and talent markets, a high degree of attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and strong communication skills to represent our team well both internally and externally.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage full cycle talent acquisition processes, including creating/updating job descriptions, sourcing talent, evaluating candidates, assisting with onboarding logistics, and helping manage immigration processes. Primarily focus on investment talent in Europe; help with other regions and non-investment talent as necessary.
- Have a strong understanding of the trading strategies that are relevant for Garda trades in order to evaluate investment talent.
- Map the relevant buy side and sell side talent markets and build and maintain ongoing relationships with key talent and recruiting firms.
- Provide relevant market intelligence through network and recruitment processes.
- Drive improvements in recruitment process and strategy.
- Partner with the HCM team and senior leaders to execute the talent strategies aligned with business goals, company culture, and growth plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Desired Skills
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in business development/talent acquisition at a hedge fund, trading recruitment, or hedge fund allocating/LP investing.
- Strong understanding of the macro and multi-manager hedge fund landscapes and the relevant trading strategies and financial instruments.
- Proficiency with LinkedIn/LinkedIn Recruiter and Greenhouse (or a similar ATS) preferred, but not required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills and an ability to multitask and context switch frequently.
- Ability to keep information confidential and leveraging sensitive information on a needs-only basis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; native-level fluency in English.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, including overnight travel.
