Garda is looking to hire an Intern to join the Credit Trading Desk in New York for Summer 2027. The candidate will be supporting the investment team, helping implement solutions for our trading and risk systems. In the course of the internship, you will be exposed to the analytics used in trading, working broadly with the team and closely with a mentor who will provide guidance and feedback. You will also have the opportunity to shadow and gain exposure to other desks across the trading floor, providing a broader perspective on the firm's business and markets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Shadow the credit trading desk in order to learn the day to day responsibilities of the investment team, from Analysts to Portfolio Managers
  • Develop a fundamental understanding of the credit market and its main products including global macro credit, emerging market credit and other areas highly correlated such as global equities, EM local rates/FX
  • Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify potential trading opportunities and assess the risk of new and existing strategies
  • Complete projects for the desk including trade ideas with presentation to the investment team
  • Support the team’s research process, including data collection and analysis, prototyping, back testing, and performance monitoring

Qualifications & Desired Skills

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in finance, economics, etc.
  • Quantitative & programming skills (Python & SQL)
  • Knowledge and interest in financial markets
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team
  • Intellectual curiosity and motivation to innovate and improve
  • Prior experience in credit markets is not necessary

Hourly Compensation for this role is expected to be between:

$55 - $55 USD
