Summer Analyst Intern 

Are you an innovative and adaptable self-starter who enjoys solving open-ended problems? Do you want to gain hands-on analytical experience while contributing to meaningful work at a growing energy company? If so, you may be a great fit for the Junior Analyst Internship at Gas South.

As part of our Launchpad Summer Internship Program, you will work full time from May through August 2027 on projects that support business priorities. You will partner with team members and business stakeholders, strengthen your analytical and professional skills, and gain exposure to how data and insights inform decisions across Gas South.

Internship Timeline

• May–August 2027
• Full-time summer internship (40 hours per week)
• Interns who successfully complete the program may be considered for future internship or full-time opportunities based on business needs and eligibility.

Job Responsibilities

NOTE: The following are the major responsibilities of this position. They are not intended to cover each aspect of the position as the scope and duties may change or be temporarily altered based on the current business needs of the Company.  The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks assigned by the reporting authority.

• Analyze company, customer, operational, or market data to identify trends and insights
• Support the development of reports, dashboards, models, and process improvements using tools such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support business decisions
• Monitor business metrics and help prepare clear summaries for team members and leaders
• Collaborate with business partners to understand needs, gather information, and contribute to practical solutions
• Prepare project documentation, presentations, and process or data flow materials
• Assist with data collection, validation, organization, and quality checks
• Present project findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship

Tools & Technologies You May Use

• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• SQL and SQL Server
• Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
• Microsoft Azure
• Agile or project-based work environments
• Programming languages or analytical tools such as Python, R, or VB

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Interest in data analysis, business intelligence, finance, or process improvement
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; exposure to SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, or similar tools is a plus
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and ask thoughtful questions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and business partners
• Ability to translate data or research into clear, actionable insights
• Previous coursework, projects, campus involvement, or work experience related to analytics or business is preferred but not required

Eligibility

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a bachelor’s degree
• Must be a rising junior or rising senior during Summer 2027
• Open to all majors, with preference given to students studying Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, or a related field
• Available to work full time from May through August 2027

Pay range is commensurate with education, experience, specialized skills or certifications, etc.

Gas South Base Pay Range

$18 - $22 USD
