DevOps Engineer - Gateway Staking

Gateway.fm through its dedicated staking division Stakeway, builds and operates the infrastructure that powers institutional-grade staking. We design secure, scalable systems that keep validators online, assets safe, and performance consistently high. Our work ensures that digital assets across multiple networks remain productive 24/7 — with zero compromise on uptime or security.
Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and improve AWS Kubernetes (k8s) and Nomad clusters supporting staking infrastructure.
- Maintain and improve the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) code base using Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, and other tools.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub actions and ArgoCD for infrastructure and service deployments and configuration management.
- Build, maintain, and scale cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or hybrid), as well as bare metal data centers like Latitude, to meet stringent reliability requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotation and ensure the service meets SLA objectives.
- Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to detect issues before they impact uptime.
- Improve and address infrastructure and system security findings to ensure ISO27001 and SOC2 compliance
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles.
- You have an exceptional drive and a very high level of initiative.
- A sharp problem-solver with a proactive approach to learning and growth.
- Advanced proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Strong understanding of Docker and container technologies.
- Proven experience managing cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar) using Terraform/Terragrunt.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment strategies.
- Work experience in monitoring highly available systems using Grafana, Prometheus, Alert Manager, and Loki.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
- Interested in learning more about blockchain nodes and staking.
- You have strong communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Nomad.
- Personal or work experience with a blockchain node or validators.
- Experience with on-call rotation.
- Experience in working with ISO27001 and SOC2 compliant systems.
