
Alternative Investments Due Diligence Writer (Contract Role/Possible Temp to Perm)
SUMMARY
The Due Diligence Writer will support our existing business, crafting responses to existing clients quarterly, annual and recurring Due Diligence questionnaires, RFIs and other questionnaires of the like. In this capacity, the Due Diligence Writer will leverage our response database to leverage and customize existing responses for ongoing diligence requests. In addition, this person will project manage each request and will partner with various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the firm for specialized content. This role would benefit from an understanding of the alternative investment space and require strong written and project management skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic group environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual will be involved in the following activities:
- Coordinate responses to DDQs and other questionnaires from existing clients’ mandates across our alternative investment platform, which includes hedge funds, private equity, infrastructure and real estate. Responsibilities will include, among other things, compiling existing and previously approved responses, drafting new responses, customizing existing responses and coordinating input from various functional areas throughout the firm where necessary.
- Partner with Fund Data and Analytics team to source performance and data needs and analyze data to complete quantitative components of each questionnaire.
- Draft written responses to questions based on verbal direction or summary information from other departments and/or senior members of the Due Diligence Services Team.
- Liaise with members of Business Development, Investments, Finance, Operations, Technology and Legal to develop effective responses on deadline.
- Support the maintenance of the Firm’s internal database of approved client responses.
- Where needed, assist with peer fact checking for questionnaires.
- Manage an individual pipeline of questionnaires while developing internal project timelines for stakeholders to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following:
- Minimum 2-5 years of professional experience working in due diligence for alternative investment or asset management firms. Knowledge of hedge funds, private equity, infrastructure and/or real estate preferred.
- Strong understanding of the institutional sales process and the role of RFP within.
- Excellent writing and editing skills (writing samples will be required). RFP or diligence-writing experience a strong plus.
- A high attention to detail, including solid proofreading skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, meet competing deadlines, and effectively balance priorities.
- Ability to take control and manage tasks or projects independently from start to end.
- Demonstrated team player with proven ability to get results from senior management and communicate with peers.
- Technically proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with RFP systems and/or Salesforce is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, English or a related field.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We will expect the following from this contractor:
- Weekly hours: Average 40 hours per week (based on project needs)
- Hourly rate $50-60/hour (based on your experience)
- Location Chicago (and willing to come into the office on a hybrid schedule)
- Duration 8 months minimum commitment (targeting July 2025 through February 2026)

Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's experience, skills, and qualifications for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on factors such as individual, team, and company performance as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
