Hospice Chaplain (Spiritual Care Coordinator)
Pay: $24 – $40 per hour DOE
Location: Boise, ID | Schedule: Per Diem

Join a compassionate and dedicated hospice team committed to providing holistic care — including spiritual and emotional support — during one of life’s most meaningful transitions. We are seeking a Hospice Chaplain to deliver sensitive and personalized spiritual care to patients, families, and caregivers, in alignment with our hospice philosophy.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct spiritual assessments and integrate findings into the individualized plan of care.

Provide direct spiritual and emotional support to patients and families from all faiths, cultures, and beliefs.

Complete the End of Benefit (EOB) process, ensure required consents are signed, and submit documentation to intake promptly.

Document visits same-day or within 24 hours in the EMR.

Attend and contribute to interdisciplinary team meetings, offering guidance on spiritual care matters.

Serve as a liaison to community clergy and spiritual counselors; facilitate collaboration to extend spiritual services.

Coordinate and lead memorial services and end-of-life rituals as requested.

Support and mentor volunteers providing spiritual care services.

Offer grief and bereavement support to families for up to 13 months post-loss.

Lead or assist in the development and evaluation of bereavement programs, volunteer services, and staff wellness initiatives.
Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited seminary or theological school (M.Div., BD, or equivalent).

Ordained minister or equivalent credential required.

Experience providing support to individuals facing death and bereavement.

Demonstrated ability to work within diverse and interfaith settings.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Familiarity with hospice philosophy and interdisciplinary team care.

Hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
Certifications & Requirements

Certificate of Ordination – Required

Valid driver's license and reliable, insured transportation.

Ability to pass required background checks and clearances.
