Experiencing enormous growth with aggressive expansion plans, Genea is expanding a Software Development and Operations center in India and is looking for dynamic engineering leaders, who can become part of this already successful growth story, and partner in creating a world class team and products.

We are fully remote since pre-COVID times. We're US-based, with a development center in Ahmedabad, India.

 

About the Role

Genea’s Smart Building Platform is going to transforming how commercial buildings operate by integrating Smart HVAC, Smart Meters, Smart Security, Energy Analytics, and more into a unified, intelligent system. Our mission is to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and drive sustainability through automation, real-time insights, and seamless integrations.

As a Product Manager, you will own and drive the vision, strategy, and execution for key features within our Smart Building Platform. You will work closely with engineering, design, and business teams to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver solutions that create tangible value for building operators and tenants. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, is passionate about IoT and AI-powered automation, and enjoys solving complex customer problems.

You Will

• Define and drive the product roadmap, prioritizing features that enhance automation, intelligence, and efficiency in building management systems (BMS), HVAC, metering, and security.
• Own end-to-end product development, from problem definition to launch, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
• Gather and analyze customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights to inform product decisions.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and business teams to ensure seamless execution and high-impact releases.
• Develop detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new features and enhancements.
• Define and track key success metrics (KPIs) to measure product performance and drive continuous improvements.
• Work with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure successful go-to-market execution and adoption.
• Write and maintain product documentation, help articles, and release notes for internal and external stakeholders to enhance product understanding and adoption.
• Create educational and thought leadership content to support customer onboarding, training, and engagement.

You Are/Have

• 3-7+ years of experience in product management, preferably in IoT, SaaS, PropTech, or Smart Building technologies.

• Speed. You like the speed and impact you can make on our product and Customers.
• Curious. Before considering potential solutions,you prioritize understanding the problem thoroughly. You actively seek input from a diverse range of sources in formulating solutions and delivers the features that customers love.
• Technical acumen, with the ability to work closely with engineers and understand BMS, IoT, AI, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong analytical mindset. You have a passion for setting clear goals, metrics, and other ways to track success that the solution effectively solves the customer's problem once it has been deployed.
• Customer-first mindset, with a passion for solving real-world problems in building automation, energy management, and security.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
• Experience working with Agile teams, writing user stories, and managing backlog prioritization.
• Familiarity with industry-standard protocols like BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, and APIs is a plus.

Bonus (Nice to Have, but Not Required)

• Experience building IoT products
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, M-Bus, and MQTT.
• Hands-on experience with BAS platforms like Siemens , Johnson Controls, Honeywell Niagara, Distech, etc.
