Position Summary
General Atlantic is looking to hire a Workday Human Resources Lead in our New York Office. The HR Lead for Workday (HCM and Payroll) is responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting our HR partners and team. This role requires technical expertise in Workday's HR business process configuration, workforce reporting and security capabilities, payroll management, and HCM, as well as strong functional knowledge of the same subject areas, to support thoughtful, sustainable implementations and smooth ongoing operations.
Our current Workday footprint includes Workday’s core HCM & Finance modules, PRISM and Extend. The role requires active collaboration with varied end-user stakeholders, primarily our Human Capital team, but also our Finance, IT, Product Management, Infrastructure/Security and interfacing application teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end HR configuration design and delivery - including technical design, configuration, validation, and deployment across Core HCM, Absence, Time, Payroll, Performance, Compensation, and Benefits
- While participating as a hands-on configuration lead, manage a team of employees and consultants to support HR and enhance and support the technology enabling their business objectives
- Oversee the governance (prioritization, testing protocols, support models) of HR development delivery across HR and affiliated teams
- Develop team to grow, learn and enrich our Workday footprint and our HR offerings
- Serve as a trusted advisor on Workday best practices and design patterns, collaborating with HR, IT, and business stakeholders
- Prepare for and lead activities around Workday releases, including impact analysis, regression testing, and adoption of new features
- Build, test, and deploy integration business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, and data transformations to support operational workflows
- Develop reports, dashboards and discovery boards to allow senior leadership and key stakeholders access to valuable insights and data-driven explorations
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Workday data model and business processes across Multiple Workday Modules (HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, and Security)
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday HR configuration experience, including calculated fields, complex reports, and business processes
- 3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers, preferably a mix of employees and non-employees.
- Significant functional business understanding of HR processes and programs
- Prior experience working in a global environment
This role requires occasional availability outside of traditional working hours to address urgent business needs as they arise, including, but not limited to, responding to security incidents, supporting software deployments, resolving software issues or system breaks, and addressing other critical operational requirements.

General Atlantic offers a robust reward program to all employees that will support you and your family, maintaining fulfilling, secure and healthy lives now and into the future, which includes but is not limited to medical insurance, retirement savings contributions, mental and physical health resources and an equal pay program that allows you to earn a base salary of $140,000 – 190,000 of which the exact amount offered will be driven by the degree to which you meet role requirements, additional special skills and experience. Additional reward programs, such as annual discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive programs, are available for eligible employees and are offered as recognition for performance and one’s contributions towards the organization’s success.
