Key Purpose of Role
The Fund Services team at Actis has evolved significantly since its launch in 2020. Formerly known as Fund Administration the group expanded its responsibilities and now supports all activities across the fund lifecycle; from initial fund-raising through to the completion of fund exits. It is the heartbeat of Actis, providing those in the team with career defining opportunities and the experience to learn and develop new skills for the longer term.
There is a major technology change programme underway across the firm which is focused on implementing a new Fund Services platform (Allvue). This represents a significant investment from the firm to update systems and processes that will create greater insight on our fund performance while generating efficiencies in our process. As part of this transformation, we are looking to hire a Fund Services Business Intelligence associate into a new role and partner with the technology group (and wider firm) to build and maintain our reporting capabilities across Actis..
Key Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive)
Commercial
- Build detailed understanding of Fund Services processes as part of the different components of the fund lifecycle (see appendix).
- Provide independent insight and analysis based on an operational and commercial basis to enhance business processes and reporting capability.
- Oversee the commercial responsibilities for investment in new reporting and data management technologies where required.
- Collaborate with the wider Group Transformation Programmes to produce joined up solutions for the enhancement of business processes.
Data and Analytics
- Creating new process and programs to accurately input and store critical data as it relates to Fund Services and wider business requirements.
- Advanced excel skills used to dig into issues - including pivot tables, vlookup etc. VBA skills or at the least, good familiarity of the same.
- Develop and understand fund data sources and data flows and how they are applied and used in fund reporting.
- Analysis of fund data and how it relates to fund and broader commercial requirements for internal and external parties.
Technology
- Develop technology capabilities for regular and bespoke reporting requirements for investors and senior management.
- Commercial SQL experience, including writing queries, views, stored procedures
- Utilise appropriate technologies (SSRS/PowerBI/Tableau) and using appropriate (ETL/ELT) processes to develop sustainable reporting processes.
- Ensure reporting procedures are clearly mapped across data, technology and process as it relates to reporting requirements.

Knowledge
- A professional background in developing and production of financial / fund administration reporting.
- Exposure to the fund industry, in particular Private Equity, would be preferred.
- Experienced working with a variety of international stakeholders, preferably gained in an inclusive and collaborative multinational company.
- Good knowledge of accounting systems and reporting applications with the ability work creatively in a dynamic system environment.
- Ability to operate effectively at the interface of business and technology teams.
- Familiar managing and organizing large data sets with the ability to develop meaningful insights.
- Can demonstrate the ability and track record to build and develop new processes
