Position Description
General Atlantic is looking to hire a Senior Associate to join the General Partner team in our Stamford, CT office. This position will report directly to Senior Director of General Partner Funds, and will have various responsibilities, including but not limited to preparation of distribution models, tracking carry grants across all products, and completing reconciliations and various analyses.
Responsibilities
- Support activities in cash management, accounts payable, record keeping, and financial & investor reporting
- Liaising with Human Capital Management to track and maintain carry allocations and grants upon exit
- Prepare carry distribution models and the corresponding notices and wires
- Prepare and distribute quarterly valuation statements across all products
- Ability to work independently and across various teams, as needed
- Compile tax supporting schedules from multiple sources, help prepare quarterly and annual tax estimates, and facilitate the flow of information with various internal departments as well as the tax preparer
- Work with third party administrator to prepare and approve various NAV packages on a quarterly basis
- Assisting in various analysis of underlying data impacting all aspects of our carry program
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred, but not required
- Minimum 5 years of public or private accounting experience; preferably in private equity
- Strong knowledge of debits and credits and general knowledge of private equity structures along with American and European waterfalls
- Strong technology skills, including a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a general knowledge of Alteryx, Power BI, etc.
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to deliver work product of high quality and accuracy in a timely manner
- Self-driven, able to multi-task, and change direction in short notice
- Highly analytical coupled with strong intuition; able to think and react quickly
- Strong project management skills – time management, pattern recognition, prioritization and strong judgement are critical; ability to work well under pressure without compromising quality
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a high performing global organization. Highly collaborative and capable of working effectively cross functionally
- Demonstrated maturity and professional presence; comfortable interacting with senior executives
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly motivated, inquisitive, and positive can-do attitude
