General Atlantic is hiring a Social Media Associate to join our New York-based marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and scale GA’s social media presence at a pivotal moment of growth and brand expansion.

We’re looking for a digitally fluent storyteller and strategic content marketer who can help elevate General Atlantic’s voice across social platforms through thoughtful content, strong editorial judgment, and best-in-class execution. The Associate will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of a cohesive social media strategy that strengthens brand visibility, deepens audience engagement, and supports broader marketing and communications objectives.

This role will work closely with teams across Marketing, Communications, and the broader business to bring the firm’s insights, people, and platform to life through compelling, platform-native storytelling. The ideal candidate combines creativity with operational rigor — someone who can manage workflows, calendars and measurement while also contributing ideas, writing copy, and shaping high-quality visual and editorial content.

The Associate will help drive both proactive and real-time social opportunities, translating business priorities, audience insights, and cultural moments into engaging content that reflects the General Atlantic brand and point of view.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of General Atlantic’s social media strategy across key platforms, including LinkedIn and X
  • Manage day-to-day social media operations, including editorial planning, publishing workflows, approvals, and calendar management
  • Create and develop social-first content, including platform-native copy, visual direction, and campaign messaging that aligns with GA’s brand standards and voice
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Communications, and subject matter experts across the firm to translate complex business and investment themes into engaging social storytelling
  • Collaborate with internal and external creative partners to develop high-quality visual assets and multimedia content
  • Stay informed on evolving platform capabilities, social trends, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled marketing tools, and provide recommendations to improve performance and efficiency
  • Identify timely opportunities for reactive and trend-based content that aligns with the firm’s positioning and priorities
  • Manage organic and paid social campaigns, including audience targeting, content amplification, and performance optimization
  • Monitor social performance metrics and audience insights to develop actionable recommendations that refine content strategy, optimize campaign effectiveness, and drive audience engagement and brand impact
  • Maintain consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity across all social channels and regions
  • Support the continued evolution of social media processes, governance, and content operations to enable scale across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5+ years of experience in social media, preferably within financial services, media, professional services, or other complex global organizations
  • Demonstrated experience managing brand social media channels and executing content strategies across major social platforms
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging platform-native copy
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, audience behavior, and platform best practices
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams to develop visually compelling and strategically aligned content
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with experience interpreting performance data and applying insights to improve content effectiveness
  • Comfortable working across functions and building relationships with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
  • Entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented, with the ability to operate independently and bring structure to evolving processes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Familiarity with paid social strategy, social analytics platforms, and AI-enabled marketing tools preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An effective collaborator with the ability to develop credibility and trust, whether working independently or partnering with colleagues across teams and geographies

Title and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience. Candidates may be considered at either the Associate or Senior Associate level.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
