About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Architect to lead the architectural design and planning of our nuclear fuel cycle campus. This role requires expertise in industrial architecture, regulatory compliance, and facility integration to ensure safe, efficient, and resilient designs that meet industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Facility Design & Planning: Develop architectural designs for a nuclear fuel cycle campus.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet applicable regulatory standards.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to integrate architectural solutions with structural, mechanical, and nuclear process requirements.
- Safety & Security Integration: Incorporate inputs from other experts including nuclear safety, radiation shielding, contamination control, and physical security.
- Sustainability & Efficiency: Design energy-efficient, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure to support long-term operational goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with clients, government agencies, and industry partners to develop innovative facility solutions.
- Construction Oversight: Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning phases to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or related field.
- Experience in industrial architecture, with a focus on industrial environments.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) and 3D modeling tools.
- Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary environment and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
- Strong Knowledge of Building Codes & Safety Standards – Understanding of NFPA, IBC, ASCE, etc.
- Project Leadership Experience – Ability to lead design teams, coordinate cross-functional engineering disciplines, and manage project timelines.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc.)
- Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints.
- Experience with nuclear facility design and knowledge of nuclear industry codes (ASME-NQA-1, ANSI/ANS, IAEA safety standards, etc.).
- Understanding of radiological shielding, controlled access zones, and contamination control in facility layouts.
- Experience in seismic, blast-resistant, and radiological safety considerations architectural design is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
