About This Role
We are seeking a skilled Automation & Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of automation and control systems for our nuclear fuel production facility. You will work closely with a fast-paced, agile team of engineers and operators to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to safe and efficient engineering solutions in advanced energy production. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a foundational understanding of engineering principles and a willingness to learn and grow within the field.
Responsibilities:
- Own all aspects of equipment design from concept, requirements to commissioning
- Program various industrial controls hardware (VFDs, PLCs, etc.)
- Write and debug software for PLCs that is maintainable and scalable.
- Generate necessary schematics for electrical and fluid systems.
- Develop HMIs that are easy to use, functional, and can be used for diagnostics & troubleshooting.
- Maintain documentation for automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to perform trade studies and make clear recommendations using first principles and engineering fundamentals even with partial information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of work in relevant field
- Knowledgeable of applicable codes and standards.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc).
- Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
