Logistics Specialist
Responsibilities
- Build new and manage existing carrier base
- Negotiate fair rates with carriers to ensure On-time pickup to meet on-time delivery set by customer
- On board new carriers using proprietary tools and in house vetting process
- Utilize proprietary tools to find carriers to move customer shipments to include internal and external load boards
- Send rate confirmations to carriers
- Identify issues and work cross-functionally to determine and implement the best solution
- Be on-call on holidays, weekends, and after traditional office hours (this time will be split between team)
- Other assigned duties
Qualifications
- Looking for someone who is business-minded, self-motivated, detail-oriented, has excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, Proficient negotiating skills, and analytical skills.
- Possess strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
- One to three years’ experience as a logistics broker (full cradle to grave)
- Established customer and carrier relationships preferred (Not Required)
- Driven and competitive nature
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Work independently and as a part of a team
