About the Opportunity:
This is a part-time position for up to 20 hours a week. We will need this person to be onsite at our Ann Arbor workspace about once a month.
At Genomenon, we are at the forefront of genomics research and innovation, with a mission to accelerate genetic discoveries and improve patient care. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time People Operations Coordinator to provide critical support across payroll management, benefits administration, interview scheduling, and company-wide operations.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and supporting employee benefits through Gusto. You will also assist with managing essential company tools, coordinating interviews across multiple time zones, and providing backup support for state compliance activities. Additionally, you will help organize major company events, including Quarterly Business Reviews, Board Meetings, and company summits, ensuring smooth logistics and successful execution.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and enjoys managing diverse responsibilities that directly impact our team and company success. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with internal teams and external vendors, making it an ideal role for someone early in their career who is eager to learn and grow in HR and operations. While much of the work can be performed remotely, in-person presence will be required in Ann Arbor for meeting and event logistics and other local support needs.
Position Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
- Process and manage payroll accurately and on time through Gusto.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations.
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries.
IT/Tools Management:
- Oversee and manage company-wide tools and software.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure efficient system operations.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees in relevant systems.
State Compliance Support:
- Provide backup support for state management activities, including registrations and compliance filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with multi-state regulations.
Interview Scheduling:
- Coordinate and schedule interviews across multiple teams and time zones through our ATS, Greenhouse.
- Communicate with candidates and hiring managers to ensure a seamless interview process.
Benefits Management:
- Assist with benefits administration in collaboration with our broker.
- Manage employee benefits through Gusto, including enrollments, changes, and inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with relevant benefits regulations and policies.
Unemployment and Government Claims Management:
- Administer and respond to unemployment claims and other government-related requests.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of required documentation.
Meeting and Event Coordination:
- Manage scheduling and logistics for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), Executive Sessions, and Board Meetings.
- Oversee onsite coordination for key meetings and events.
- Help plan and coordinate company summits including logistics, scheduling, and vendor management.
Administration and Operations
- Work with the executive team on ad hoc administrative duties like ordering catering, booking reservations, and travel.
- Assist marketing with ad hoc needs like ordering swag.
- Coordinate anniversary and other gifts for the US an Bosnian team.
Skills and Background:
- 1-2 years of experience in HR, operations, and/or administrative roles.
- Familiarity with payroll and benefits platforms (experience with Gusto preferred).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack and other relevant tools. Greenhouse experience is preferred.
- Within a 30 minute drive from Ann Arbor.
- Experience working remotely with the self-motivation to complete tasks independently
