Material Planning Specialist
Location: Piscataway, NJ
Employment Status: Full Time
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Role Description
We are seeking a Material planning Specialist to improve row-material delivery experience and reduce company inventory & slow-moving stock costs through rational material planning, maintenance of material master data parameters, and continuous improvement of material planning-related processes.
The estimated salary range is $60,000 - $65,000, based on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Based on the S&OP process framework, generate rolling material procurement plans; manage the accuracy of material demand forecasts across Business Units (BUs) to enhance material delivery performance.
- Maintain supply strategies and MRP master data for production and R&D materials.
- Generate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) based on rolling procurement plans and material supply strategies; monitor and manage material delivery risks on a weekly basis until closure, ensuring uninterrupted production and R&D delivery across BUs.
- Monitor and manage inventory turnover for assigned materials; drive initiatives to handle obsolete/inactive stock and improve overall inventory health.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, Production, Quality, and other departments to achieve Supply Chain Planning organization KPIs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (Full-time, accredited program).
- Preferred Major: Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related fields
- Skills and Experience:
- Familiar with planning-related business processes;
- Strong planning, execution, and follow-up management capabilities;
- Proficient in SAP PP/MM modules; advanced skills in Excel (formulas, PivotTables, data analysis).
- Honest, diligent, hardworking, and self-motivated;
- Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills;
- High resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
- Language: Fluent in both English and Mandarin is a plus.
