Geocgi is seeking an Application Developer Intern to support our corporate Digital, Technology, and Innovation (DTI) department. This role supports the IT and R&D staff in ongoing initiatives, projects, maintenance, and customer service. Working alongside GIS professionals, system administrators, developers, and analysts, the Application Developer Intern will help with Agentic AI implementations, web application development, database development, and other DTI functions.

The ideal candidate has or is working on a bachelor’s degree in computer science and has an understanding of software development languages and concepts, DevOps, database concepts, AI / LLMs, strong attention to detail, and an interest in expanding their technical expertise within our core geocgi team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their experience in geospatial information systems, security, and mission-focused technology. This position is a remote 6-month opportunity, but may require one trip to the Washington, DC-area to meet at geocgi HQ. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shadow DTI staff on key initiatives in Agentic AI, application development, helpdesk support, security, and GIS analysis.
  • Meet with project managers on at least 3 geocgi contracts.
  • Virtually attend DTI standups and other key meetings for ongoing initiatives.
  • Help troubleshoot and solve issues users are having with applications.
  • Develop Agentic AI solutions for geocgi corporate staff related to IT and cloud operations, alerting and reporting, human resources management, or other key use cases that will advance the company’s mission.
  • Learn CoPilot Studio and other Agentic AI platforms used by geocgi.
  • Learn Power Platform administration and development.
  • Learn Azure cloud administration.
  • Collaborate with developers, GIS specialists, analysts, and system administrators to support mission requirements and implement solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of any ongoing technology solutions for the company.

The following are requirements of the Application Developer Intern:

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Have attained or currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with software development languages, such as Python, Java, C#, etc.
  • Understanding of SQL databases and SQL programming.
  • Familiarity with software development IDEs, such Visual Studio.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate data and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, environment.

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated to be $15-$20 USD. The listed hourly range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
