We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Security Systems Administrator who will be accountable for the implementation, installation/ deployment and monitoring of Geotab’s new Information Security systems.
What you'll do:
As a Security Systems Administrator, you will manage and continuously audit processes and documentation to seek out new ways to improve and secure Geotab’s environment. This position will also contribute to task automation, anti-virus efforts, vulnerability scanning, and other IT Security initiatives.
How you'll make an impact
- Maintain overall security of Geotab network for all servers, network peripherals, and workstations.
- Collaborate with the rest of internal security teams to plan and implement Geotab security policies.
- Research, test, and roll out new Information Security systems.
- Manage vulnerability scanning systems and work with DevOps and IT teams to ensure systems are patched and updated.
- Monitor and follow up on malware issues.
- Compile and maintain up-to-date documentation on all areas of responsibility.
- Automate repetitive tasks with appropriate scripting languages/tools (e.g. Powershell, Python).
- Configure and apply permissions in Google Compute Engine or other systems.
- Configure Firewalls and work with DevOps to automate Firewall configuration.
- Maintain secrets management and certificate systems and work with DevOps to automate their enrollment and distribution.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule.
What you'll bring to the role
- 3-5 years of experience in a Systems Administrator working intimately with Security Information Systems.
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience required, Diploma/Degree specialization in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field highly valued.
- Experience with Cloud Computing solutions (GCP, AWS).
- Skilled with scripting languages (e.g. Python).
- Previous exposure to Postgres, SQL Server, and/or Google BigQuery.
- Professional certification in IT/Security (e.g. Security+, MSCE, Network+) in an asset.
- Working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry an asset.
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
