Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! As a Senior Strategic Communications Specialist, you are an experienced, hands-on communications professional with great energy, strong motivation, creativity, and strategic thinking. You’re passionate about storytelling, brand positioning, and building authentic connections across media, influencers, and social platforms. You’ve worked in multinational companies—ideally in tech and B2B environments— and know how to turn complex ideas into compelling narratives that are customer-focused and grounded in value.

You may come from a marketing or communications agency background, and you're confident navigating fast-paced, dynamic settings where you own the message, the strategy, and the execution end-to-end. You're not only strategic, but also highly collaborative, curious, and proactive—someone who thrives on taking initiative and making things happen and are excited by the opportunity to have a real impact across Latin America. You understand the importance of regional nuance, and your work is driven by data, ROI thinking, and a focus on delivering customer value. You are a bilingual communicator (Spanish and English) who can craft messages that resonate across audiences and cultures. Ideally, you're based in Mexico, Colombia, or the U.S., and bring a deep understanding of the Latin American communications landscape.

What you'll do:

As the Senior Strategic Communications Specialist, for Latin America, you will lead and execute a regional communications strategy that strengthens Geotab’s brand reputation, visibility, and positioning, particularly in key markets like Mexico where competitive differentiation is critical. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to craft and own key messaging that communicates our product value, customer impact, and leadership in the telematics space.

You will liaise with PR, media, and social media agencies to ensure alignment, consistency, and effective execution of communications initiatives, while building strong media and influencer relationships to secure high-impact coverage and brand visibility opportunities. You will also develop engaging content such as press releases, blogs, customer success stories, executive pieces, and social storytelling tailored to local audiences. You will support executive visibility and thought leadership through speaker opportunities, bylined articles, and regional campaigns, aligning with global communications teams while leading regional storytelling with agility, creativity, and cultural sensitivity.

How you'll make an impact

  • Develop and execute the communications strategy including ideation, writing and editing of the annual communications plan.

  • Proactively develop newsworthy content leveraging Geotab’s CEO, SMEs and leaders, creating new ideas and writing content for external communications materials including media releases, social content, viewpoints, blogs and speaking opportunities. Manage CEO’s LinkedIn social program including posts.

  • Manage response and oversight of negative social media activity including internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead and coach Geotab spokespeople with media interviews, developing strategy, messaging and positioning; write/develop social content, and write/develop speaking materials for key executives.

  • Manage and proactively build media relationships, including an extensive network of journalists and influencers across Latin America.

  • Own the day-to-day support for Geotab’s Latin American public relations agencies, ensuring they are equipped with relevant content and information to succeed in reaching their goals and objectives.

  • Oversee Latin America  strategic communications initiatives ensuring media and social program integration, legal approvals, annual calendar management and 360 campaign management.

  • Guide and coach the team including managing the development of tools and processes to improve data understanding and capability to evaluate insights to measure communication effectiveness (dashboards, policies, strategies).

  • Extensive proactive collaboration with Geotab leadership, external and internal stakeholders to ensure communication plans and marketing campaigns are integrated across marketing, deliver impact for various departments, and maximize ongoing media and social opportunities.

What you'll bring to the role

  • 5–8 years of experience in corporate and technology communications, with strengths in media relations, strategic planning, social media strategy, content creation, and performance measurement using analytics tools.

  • Strong bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (verbal, written, and editing) is essential to effectively engage with diverse audiences, foster inclusive communication, and support LATAM regional initiatives.

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field highly valued.

  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related fields may be substituted.

  • Attention to detail, high accuracy and a strategic, creative mindset.

  • Proactive with a strong capability in “joining dots” and managing fully integrated initiatives and programs.

  • Able to work well under pressure and respond accurately to fast changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent collaborator with an ability to engage and build relationships with all levels of the organization.

  • Technical competence with software programs such as Google Workspace and Canva; video editing skills are a plus.

  • Ability to interact with and guide senior executives across the region in content development, media and speaking coaching, and writing.

  • Experience in media data analysis, dashboards, and data tools; familiarity with Cision is a plus.

  • Continuous learner with the ability to stay up to date on the latest social media trends and effectively teach others.

If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role! Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

Geotab is committed to fair and equitable treatment for all, and fostering a culture that embraces diversity and inclusion throughout the hiring process and beyond. At Geotab, our unique company culture is built upon the value of “always do the right thing” which is embraced by employees around the world. As a global organization, we continuously seek ways in which we can support both our staff and our communities through programs and partnerships focused on empowering diversity and prioritizing inclusion.

We invite you to complete this optional survey to help us evaluate our diversity and inclusion efforts. Submission of the information on this form is strictly voluntary. Opting not to participate will not impact your job application in any way. Information obtained will not be associated with your name or job application in any identifiable manner. This information will be kept secure and confidential and will be used solely to evaluate our diversity and inclusion efforts. The information collected in this survey is only available to HR staff and Geotab data scientists to view in aggregated data format and not on an individual basis. Your answer will be maintained confidential and not be seen by selecting officials or anyone else involved in making hiring decisions.

Note to USA Applicants: This is a separate survey from the EEO-1 Voluntary Self Identification Form used in the United States for compliance purposes. We feel that the options found in the mandated survey do not encompass the rich diversity of our applicants, and as such strive to provide additional responses that reflect the landscape more accurately.
