What you'll do:
As a Senior Team Lead, Data Analytics your key area of responsibility will be managing team expectations, working arrangements and priorities and overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to support business objectives. You will need to work closely with stakeholders throughout Geotab to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions as well as to align data analytics initiatives with organizational goals.
To be successful in this role you will possess the ability to communicate insights effectively to support the organization's objectives. In addition, the successful candidate will have a combination of technical expertise and leadership skills.
How you'll make an impact:

Manage team expectations with regards to task assignments, work arrangements and priorities.

Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to support business objectives.

Collaborate with stakeholders throughout Geotab to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions as well as to align data analytics initiatives with organizational goals.

Ensure that key findings are communicated effectively to drive actionable insights.

Develop and implement data analysis processes, strategies and roadmap to ensure data quality and consistency.

Identify opportunities for innovation and improvements in data analysis techniques.

Lead the Data Community of Practice to advance data maturity and data literacy across all functional areas in the company.

Ensure all functional areas have a dedicated data steward responsible for the ownership and risk of their data products.

Evaluate and select appropriate data analytics tools, platforms, and technologies.

Coordinate with product managers and technical project managers across the company to maintain a Data Product roadmap aligned with business objectives.

Ensure technical expertise is available within the team to provide expert project leadership and guidance to team members as needed.

Oversee the activities and performance of direct reports:

Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Provide direction, coaching, and mentorship to the team.

Engage in the development of the team by setting clear expectations, coaching, providing feedback, identifying areas of growth, and training opportunities.

Collaborate and support employees during the performance management process, meeting KPAs, and career development planning.
What you'll bring to the role:
-
Bachelors in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

5-8 years experience in Business Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role.
-
5-8 years experience working within a technical or engineering organization, with knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.

3-5 years leadership experience in a team-oriented workplace.

3-5 years success with coaching and development of employees.

Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, programming languages (Python and SQL) and developing business intelligence visualizations.

Knowledge of data management and visualization techniques.
-
Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through to completion.

Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
-
Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.

Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
