Geotab is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Harness Portfolio who will own the end-to-end strategy, development, and optimization of Geotab's wiring harness portfolio across all device families — telematics, asset tracking, video and off-road. What you'll do:
As a Senior Product Manager, Harness Portfolio, your key area of responsibility will be rationalizing and standardizing the harness portfolio to reduce complexity and time-to-market, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring high standards for installation, documentation, and quality. You will need to work closely with Geotab’s Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Field Installation teams, and various Product Management units.
To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter who can operate independently in a flat organization with minimal direction and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to bridge technical engineering requirements with commercial and operational objectives to drive a structured, portfolio-driven platform.
How you'll make an impact:
- Own the harness portfolio roadmap across all Geotab device families, defining a clear vision for standardization, cost efficiency, data quality and in support of business objectives. Serve as the single point of accountability for harness-related decisions across all product lines.
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of the existing harness portfolio to identify redundancy, consolidation opportunities, and gaps.
- Lead strategies to reduce cost, time-to-market & portfolio complexity working with Operations, Supply Chain and Engineering to achieve objectives.
- Collaborate with the installation and field services organization to incorporate installer feedback on harness routing, serviceability, labeling, and ease of installation.
- Coordinate with core and regional product teams to manage vehicle-specific and segment needs for harness variants.
- Define harness specification templates and ensure consistent documentation across all harness development projects (pinout tables, block diagrams, BOMs, installation instructions).
- Track field quality metrics (installation errors, warranty returns, harness-related support cases) and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Own the harness detect system strategy, ensuring intelligent harness identification supports automated device configuration.
- Establish reporting frameworks that track portfolio health: SKU count, cost per harness, commonality index, field failure rates, and installation time benchmarks.
What you'll bring to the role:
- 8+ years of experience in product management or harness engineering with a product focus.
- Post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Deep understanding of wired harness design principles, manufacturing processes, and automotive electrical architectures (CAN bus, OBD-II/J1939).
- Demonstrated track record of driving standardization and cost optimization across a multi-product hardware portfolio through the NPI lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills to conduct cost-benefit analysis, make-vs-buy decisions, and portfolio performance tracking.
- Excellent communication and influence skills to align engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to visits contract manufacturers and installation sites

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individual's ability to pass a background check.
Hiring Range
$125,000 - $150,700 CAD
