What you'll do:
As a Product Manager your key area of responsibility will be building Geotab’s customer intelligence by identifying which ideas and opportunities should be promoted into features to support pushing the product strategy forward. You will need to work closely with cross functional teams (Design, Engineering, Marketing, Support and others) as well as senior members of the team and product leadership. To be successful in this role you will be a self starter, resourceful with strong analytical skills, acute perception, and the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strategic mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong understanding of user engagement metrics and product KPIs to drive data-informed decision-making.
How you'll make an impact:

The primary role is to truly understand the customer and its associated market.

Perform customer discovery interviews with prospective and existing customers and partners to identify product gaps and generate news ideas for continuous value add for existing customers, grow market share for new customers and to overall improve Geotab’s customer experience.

Leverage various research methodologies and customer inputs to identify common patterns, pain points, problems to be solved/jobs to be done and use this to identify relevant solution opportunities/product efforts.

Develop a product roadmap and align internal stakeholders to the developed roadmap strategy.

Work closely with senior members of the team and product leadership to provide input on the long term vision of the product.

Work with cross functional teams (Design, Engineering, Marketing, Support and others) to build and execute the product development and go to market strategy for key roadmap deliverables.

Prioritize building what matters most by balancing short term sales targets with long term strategic investments for the business.

Collaboratively define and drive reporting and monitoring mechanisms against set product outcomes and use them as a tool to measure continued success of product efforts (both qualitative and quantitative).

Collaborate with other product managers on designing and executing market feedback loops and incorporate into product planning: Sales (participate in win-loss interviews and analysis; identify hard sales blockers and soft sales objections) and Retention and Referral (feedback/satisfaction/effectiveness interviews and analysis).

Clearly communicate the Why for every product effort and educate other stakeholders on the problems to be solved, business objectives, etc. Leverage this in collaboration with UX designers, developers, data scientists and other stakeholders to do problem and solution validation, translate customer needs into user stories/feature epics/work to be done, and prioritize epics relative to technical debt and other company product investments.

What you'll bring to the role:

3 - 5 years of required previous experience in product management and/or customer discovery or a related field (experience in a SaaS environment is highly valued).

Bachelors in a related field or Post-secondary Diploma/Degree (Engineering, Business, Computer Science highly valued), or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills with strong empathy and presentation ability (in person and virtually).

Demonstrated experience with user engagement metrics, product KPIs, data-informed decision-making, and Agile planning methods/practices.

Strategic mindset with solid negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship management skills, and ability to adapt to growing technology and market demands.

Self-starter, resourceful, and strong analytical skills with an ability to stitch together disparate insights to uncover common patterns.

Strong organizational skills to manage products through discovery to launch, alongside an entrepreneurial mindset comfortable in a flat organization.

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individual's ability to pass a background check.
Hiring Range
$104,400 - $135,700 CAD
