Who you are:

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking an Integration Hardware Developer who will act as our Hardware Subject Matter Expert, supporting new assets — such as Refrigeration Control Units, Tachographs, Thermographs, and other third-party devices and sensors — as they connect to Geotab's devices. What you'll do:

As an Integration Hardware Developer your key area of responsibility will be building in-house proofs of concept, defining requirements for our Hardware, Firmware, and Mechanical engineering teams, and leading pilot installations for new integrations. You will design and prototype harnesses, enclosures, and toolings, assemble and test units, and adapt and test products to work with new vehicle and equipment platforms. You will need to work closely with Geotab's Hardware, Firmware, and Mechanical engineering teams, as well as external OEMs and third-party device manufacturers, to reverse engineer electrical, hardware, and communications systems and protocols.

To be successful in this role you will be a hands-on problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset who is comfortable diagnosing vehicle and equipment problems using conventional tools such as probing connectors, building harnesses, and testing circuits. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent English verbal and written communication, and the ability to document field data collection methods and investigate device behavior issues independently. Scripting or programming knowledge and PCB or harness design experience are strong assets.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Build in-house proofs of concept and define requirements for Hardware, Firmware, and Mechanical engineering teams
  • Lead pilot installations for new asset integrations and provide technical support to integration projects
  • Design and prototype harnesses, enclosures, and toolings, and assemble and test new units
  • Reverse engineer electrical, hardware, and communications systems and protocols, including physical layers such as CAN, K-Line/ISO9141, VPW/PWM, Single Wire CAN, RS-232, and RS-485
  • Work directly with OEMs on custom and proprietary data and diagnostics, and investigate third-party device behavior issues
  • Study new field equipment, maintain legacy products, and support global strategic initiatives (up to 25% travel to global locations)

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Experience with vehicle systems, sensors, actuators, control systems, diagnostics, and electrical/communications architecture
  • Hands-on experience diagnosing vehicle problems with conventional tools — probing connectors, building harnesses, testing circuits
  • Technical engineering education (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer, Systems Design, Automotive, Industrial, or related)
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent English verbal and written communication
  • Scripting or programming knowledge is an asset; PCB or harness design experience is an asset
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a flat organization; willingness to travel up to 25% to global locations

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individual's ability to pass a background check.

Hiring Range

250,000 د.إ - 360,000 د.إ AED
