The Role

We are seeking a Director of Product & Design to lead our SaaS product portfolio, including:

  • Construction Loan Administration (CLA)
  • CLA+ for Commercial Real Estate
  • Deal Management
  • Construction Financials
  • Lien Waiver Management

This leader will own portfolio strategy, execution velocity, and design excellence across these domains, while actively driving AI-powered product innovation and AI-enabled product development practices. You will lead Product Managers and Designers across these areas and partner closely with Engineering to accelerate both product delivery and intelligent automation across our platform. This role reports into executive leadership and requires a modern product leader who leverages AI tools to prototype rapidly, pressure-test ideas, and rethink workflows, not just incrementally improve them.

What You’ll Do

Portfolio Strategy & Business Ownership

  • Define and drive the multi-year product vision and strategy across Built’s SaaS portfolio.
  • Own portfolio-level prioritization, sequencing investments to maximize customer value and revenue impact.
  • Identify and prioritize AI-enabled opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual processes, and increase customer leverage.
  • Partner with Finance and GTM to align product strategy with revenue, retention, and margin goals.
  • Evaluate build vs. buy vs. partner decisions.

Execution & Operating Model

  • Establish and maintain a clear operating cadence across product and design.
  • Ensure roadmaps are outcome-driven, not output-driven.
  • Balance innovation, customer commitments, and platform health.
  • Drive strong product discovery practices and measurable delivery discipline.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop Product Managers and Designers across domains.
  • Coach PMs to operate as strategic business owners, not backlog managers.
  • Elevate design quality, user research rigor, and UX consistency across products.
  • Build a culture of accountability, velocity, and customer obsession.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner deeply with Engineering leadership to ensure strong technical strategy alignment.
  • Work with Product Marketing and Revenue to ensure launches are crisp and impactful.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure voice-of-customer insights drive prioritization.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8–12+ years in Product Management within B2B SaaS.
  • Experience leading multi-product portfolios or complex platform ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to scale PM and Design teams.
  • Superior strategic thinking paired with operational rigor.
  • Strong familiarity with modern AI tooling for product discovery and prototyping.
  • Demonstrated ability to move quickly in growth-stage or scaling environments.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, retention, expansion, usage, margin).
  • Experience partnering closely with Engineering leadership to drive high-velocity delivery.
  • Excellent communicator who can align executives and frontline teams around clear priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fintech, proptech, construction tech, or regulated workflows.
  • Experience operating in mid-market and enterprise SaaS motions.
  • Familiarity with workflow-heavy, compliance-driven products.

Success Metrics

  • Clear, aligned portfolio strategy with measurable business outcomes.
  • Improved roadmap predictability and delivery velocity.
  • Increased customer retention and expansion within SaaS products.
  • Stronger UX consistency and usability across product lines.
  • High engagement and performance across Product & Design teams.

Form CC-305

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
