Director - Data, AI, & Engineering
Opportunity:
Get Well is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Director of Data and AI to serve in a technical leadership role responsible for driving AI project management, coordinating cross-functional innovation, and ensuring seamless integration of cutting-edge AI technologies across product development initiatives. This role serves as a key interface between AI engineering teams and product teams, translating technological capabilities into tangible healthcare solutions.This position reports directly to the VP, Data & AI, working collaboratively across multiple teams to advance the organization's AI capabilities and strategic objectives. Responsibilities:AI Project Management
Manage and coordinate complex AI development projects from conception to deployment
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project roadmaps for AI initiatives
- Create detailed project plans, accomplish defined milestones, and track progress against strategic objectives
Technical Leadership and Innovation
- Lead the design and implementation of AI solutions leveraging unimodal and multimodal Large
Language Models (LLMs)
- Oversee AI model training, fine-tuning, and inference engine implementation
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies into existing product ecosystems
- Ensure technical excellence and innovation in AI solution development
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as primary liaison between AI engineering teams and product teams
- Translate technical capabilities into product requirements and user-centric solutions
- Facilitate communication and alignment across engineering, product, and clinical teams
- Drive collaborative innovation processes and knowledge sharing
Infrastructure and Technology Management
- Contribute to the effective utilization and optimization of cloud-based AI infrastructure
- Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of AI systems and platforms
- Identify and implement improvements in AI development workflows and toolchains
Performance and Quality Assurance
- Establish and maintain rigorous testing and validation protocols for AI models
- Develop metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess AI solution effectiveness
- Implement continuous improvement processes for AI technologies
Compliance and Ethical AI
- Ensure AI solutions adhere to healthcare regulatory standards and data privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
- Develop and enforce ethical AI guidelines
- Mitigate potential biases in AI model development
- Maintain high standards of responsible AI innovation
Requirements:
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical field
- Minimum 5+ years of technical and leadership experience in AI/ML technologies
- Proven track record of delivering complex AI solutions in healthcare or technologically advanced domains
- Deep technical proficiency in:
○ Large Language Model (LLM) architectures
○ Multimodal AI system design
○ Machine learning model training and fine-tuning
○ Cloud computing infrastructure
○ AI/ML frameworks and development tools
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, complex technological projects
- Expertise in agile and adaptive project management methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent AI initiatives
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts
- Strong collaborative leadership approach
- Experience guiding cross-functional teams
- Ability to mentor and develop technical talent
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare technology landscapes
- Awareness of emerging AI technologies and their potential applications
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory environments and data privacy standards
- Strategic thinking and vision for technological innovation
- Proven ability to balance technological potential with practical implementation
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Adaptability in fast-evolving technological environments
- Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information including but not limited to ePHI and PHI in accordance with organizational policy and Federal, State, and local regulations
