Title: Principal Quality Assurance Engineer

Reporting to: Director, Quality Assurance Engineering
Location: Bengaluru (Bangalore)

Opportunity:

Get Well is seeking a visionary and technically adept Principal Quality Assurance Engineer who will be responsible for driving quality strategy, test automation architecture, and continuous improvement initiatives across complex, distributed healthcare systems. The Principal QA Engineer will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and compliance teams to ensure GetWell products meet the highest standards for reliability, security, and regulatory compliance. This is a senior technical leadership role, where the role will define quality best practices and set the direction for testing across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and lead quality engineering strategy across large-scale healthcare platforms and services.
  • Champion a “shift-left” testing culture, integrating quality early in the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with development teams to design for testability, automation, and resilience.

Automation & Test Infrastructure

  • Architect and evolve scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks (UI, API, integration, performance).
  • Identify and implement tools for continuous testing, load testing, and test data management.
  • Drive automation coverage across critical user journeys and backend workflows.
  • Design and implement testing strategies for GenAI, AI/ML models, including validation of model accuracy, performance under varied data conditions, and integration within production systems to ensure safe and reliable decision-making.

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Mentor QA engineers and guide cross-functional teams on quality engineering principles.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Cloud DevOps.
  • Work with product managers, designers, and clinical SMEs to ensure accurate, high-quality software delivery.

Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure quality practices meet or exceed healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Drive root cause analysis for critical issues and establish preventative measures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with 2+ years in a technical leadership or principal role.
  • Deep experience designing automated testing solutions for distributed, cloud-based applications.
  • Proficiency with at least one modern automation framework (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, TestNG, Robot Framework).
  • Extensive experience in AI/ML model validation and data testing using tools like PyTest, Robot Framework, TensorFlow Extended (TFX), MLflow, and automation frameworks with strong Python proficiency.
  • Solid understanding of API testing, database validation, performance testing, and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, Gatling).
  • Experience in CI/CD environments and infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or TypeScript.
