Senior Analyst - Actuarial Reporting

POSITION SUMMARY:

Global Atlantic’s Actuarial Valuation Team is seeking a Valuation Actuary to join the team and support Corporate Actuarial functions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Timely preparation of complete and accurate life actuarial values required for Statutory, Tax and GAAP financial reporting.
  • Enhancing automated processes to value product liabilities in compliance with all applicable regulatory, industry and professional standards.
  • Establishing the infrastructure needed to meet the time sensitive demands of periodic financial reporting set forth by management or external customers.
  • Supporting and providing leadership to the development and maintenance of appropriate valuation and policy exhibit systems with a strong focus on efficiency, consistency and flexibility in line with product segments.
  • Keeping abreast of the regulatory and legislative environment related to life valuation and financial reporting issues.
  • Provide support to internal/external auditors, insurance departments and Finance on all life related requests and maintaining documentation for audit trail.
  • This role will potentially manage one Actuarial staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and experience equivalent to a four-year college degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or other related field is required. 
  • 5+ years of experience in the life/annuity insurance industry is required.
  • Understanding of Statutory valuation and US GAAP frameworks is required.
  • Knowledge of individual life products required.
  • Experience with actuarial valuation / projection software is required.
  • Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) is a plus.
  • Experience with SAS or other programming is a plus.
  • Demonstrated high competency to solve complex calculations and understand technical written material.
  • Strong communication, technical and analytical skills.
  • Ownership - Takes personal accountability for the execution of goals and objectives.
  • Innovative - Able to participate in the generation of new and unique ideas.
  • Teamwork - Positive attitude necessary to be part of a strong performing team.

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. 

 

The base salary range for this role is

$60,000 - $114,600 USD
