We are looking for a VP, Production who is passionate about creative advertising, driven to create content, and eager to manage best-in-industry experiences for any medium. This role will be focused on overseeing as well as actively producing integrated projects geared to deliver video, stills, and innovative ideas, as well as creating social content. Experience leading the production of video and TV commercials is a must.

The VP, Production must be organized, solution-oriented, able to stay calm under pressure, and flexible enough to adapt to ever-changing project demands. Traits and expertise such as strong project management skills, communication skills, and attention to detail are critical to the success of this position.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is ready to become a Spoon - to give a damn, try anything, and enjoy the people they are working with.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an Executive Producer on critical projects, providing strategic guidance and ensuring successful execution.
  • Establish best-in-class production processes, standards and operating procedures for in-house team as well as freelance talent
  • Manage the production plan, scope, and budgets for all projects, including large-scale initiatives.
  • Project manage with clear and consistent communication internally as well as with vendors and clients.
  • Vet ideas to ensure they are feasible and within budget.
  • Partner with the Account Team to manage client expectations, helping to educate and present production elements as needed.
  • Work with creative teams to provide insight during the ideation process in production capabilities and solutions.
  • Build and manage budgets, ensuring projects come in on budget and on spec.
  • Oversee Business Affairs and work with Legal Team on risk management, insurance requirements and updating/maintaining production agreement templates. on talent budget and usage needs, production vendor agreements, risk management and insurance requirements
  • Stay abreast of best-in-class partners, know what their strengths and skill sets are, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Stay current in new technologies and media in order to be a proactive, creative problem solver.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of in-house and freelance producers, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality output.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in a comparable role, with a significant portion in an agency setting. Experience as a producer in an advertising agency is a must.
  • Strong understanding of the creative process and ability to lead creative thinking and execution.
  • A proven track record in developing excellent working relationships with vendors.
  • Strong ability to foster trusting relationships with clients and teammates across departments and offices
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative and caring team environment while coaching and mentoring a growing team
  • Effective written, verbal, and visual communicator.
  • Deep knowledge and existing network of best-in-class production partners, crew, directors, photographers, innovators, editors, music companies, and post companies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of innovative media technologies (i.e., AI, VFX).
  • Ability to solve problems quickly, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing project environments, with the ability to keep calm in stressful situations.
  • Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning (goals, budgets, and schedules).
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Slack, and Microsoft Office.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $200,000 - 250,000. Salary is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and geographic location. For this role, we also offer programs such as medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and various other benefits and perks. Additionally, this role is eligible for a bonus program.
