Business Development Intern (Summer)

We are looking for a Business Development Intern to join our team for 10 weeks this summer (June 2nd to August 7th).

With the Business Development team, this intern reports to the New Business & Marketing Manager. They’ll support Giant Spoon’s growth efforts by assisting with pitch development, research, and new business communications, and will have the unique opportunity to see how an agency’s branding comes to life across internal and external touchpoints.

As a Giant Spoon intern, you will be welcome to join any town halls, weekly updates, lunches and happy hours during the summer. As part of the program, we will also be offering a series of workshops and Q&As with craft leads to gain insights into the day to day of neighboring departments.

This team is based in the New York office and work in a hybrid fashion with in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We are looking for candidates who can join us in NYC!

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of introductory credentials decks for new business opportunities.
  • Research and provide insights and background materials on prospective clients/brands to Leadership to help prepare for client outreach.
  • Develop and maintain new business prospecting, pitch consultancy, and agency contact databases.
  • Support resource management and content development for agency social media accounts.
  • Keep abreast of industry and competitor news - new wins, areas of focus, new product offerings, etc. and report findings on an ongoing basis. 
  • Ongoing asset management/organization including agency’s G-Drive and Vimeo channels.
  • Work with VP of Business Development and New Business & Marketing Manager to update master case study documents and ensure high written and design quality of all case studies.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a career in marketing, advertising, media, or related field.
  • Strong interest in learning about agency process and client interaction.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Passionate about the details. 
  • Digitally connected, passionate about technology and innovation with an insatiable curiosity for how it applies to our industry.
  • Experience working with Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets) a plus.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $18.00-20.00. The rate is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and geographic location.
