Enterprise Collaboration Platforms Administrator

Century City; Dallas; Denver; Houston; Los Angeles; New York City; Orange County; Palo Alto; San Francisco; Washington, D.C.

Gibson Dunn is a leading global law firm, advising clients on significant transactions and disputes. Our exceptional teams craft and deploy creative legal strategies that are meticulously tailored to every matter, however complex or high stakes. The firm’s work is distinguished by a unique combination of precision and vision.

Based in any US office, the Enterprise Collaboration Platforms Administrator serves as the primary administrator for the firm’s multi-platform collaboration ecosystem, including Slack Enterprise Grid, Microsoft Teams, Lark, Webex, and Zoom. This role will be responsible for platform governance and day-to-day administration, with a focus on governed AI bot deployments on Slack, Copilot Studio agents in Teams, and full production administration of Lark, including SSO, lifecycle management, and bot governance.

This role reports to the Supervisor, Cloud Solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own production administration of three collaboration platforms (Slack Enterprise Grid, Microsoft Teams, and Lark), maintaining equivalent governance rigor across each, and assist our Webex and Zoom admin team where necessary.
  • Manage identity lifecycle across platforms via Entra ID, including SCIM provisioning and deprovisioning, SSO configuration, and reliable, auditable auto-offboarding.
  • Maintain a registry of all deployed apps, bots, and agents across platforms, documenting OAuth scopes, data access, always-on host dependencies, and approval chains, and own incident response when a bot host goes silent.
  • Assess and document cross-platform data flows where Slack, Teams, and Lark coexist, enforcing governance boundaries that prevent unauthorized data movement, and perform security reviews of any app whose message content leaves a platform boundary (for example, LLM API integrations).
  • Configure and maintain retention, legal-hold, and eDiscovery export processes across all three platforms in alignment with records management and matter-specific obligations and participate in InfoSec audits of app scopes and data residency.
  • Own Slack Enterprise Grid org configuration: workspace provisioning and policies, member access tiers, guest and Slack Connect governance, channel creation and naming policies, and the org-level App Approval Policy.
  • Administer Slack compliance controls, including message retention, EKM configuration and key-rotation guidance, DLP integrations (for example, Nightfall), eDiscovery exports via the Slack API, and Enterprise Grid audit-log exports to SIEM and eDiscovery.
  • Administer Microsoft Teams within the firm’s M365 environment (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Purview, Intune, Intapp Workspaces): lifecycle and naming policies, guest and external access, calling and meeting policies, app policies, and sensitivity labels.
  • Configure Teams compliance through Microsoft Purview: communication-compliance policies, retention labels, meeting-recording storage, and eDiscovery for Teams messages and recordings.
  • Own full production administration of the Lark Admin Console for the firm’s APAC population: org and department structure, member roles, SAML 2.0 SSO and SCIM with Entra ID, App Directory governance, and security settings (two-factor authentication, session timeout, approved IP ranges, and device trust).
  • Enforce Lark data residency so that messages, files, and Docs content are stored in the correct region, and evaluate Lark AI features (Lark AI and Lark Minutes) for privilege and retention risk in legal communications.
  • Build and maintain Lark custom bots via the Lark Open Platform API (event subscriptions, interactive cards, webhooks, and token lifecycle), and administer Lark retention, legal-hold exports, audit-log monitoring, and Lark Connect external collaboration.
  • Publish and maintain governance documentation for each platform, train attorneys and staff on policies, data classification, and bot interaction guidelines, and serve as the escalation point and vendor-support coordinator (Slack TAM, Lark enterprise support) across the firm’s offices.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex collaboration platform issues.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT administration, including at least two years administering enterprise collaboration platforms supporting environments of 500+ users.
  • Experience working within a professional services, legal, or other highly regulated environment is highly desired.
  • Experience supporting multiple enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms simultaneously, such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Lark, Zoom, and Webex.
  • Demonstrated experience administering Slack Enterprise Grid (Slack Certified Admin or equivalent preferred), including multi-workspace organization architecture, organization level policy controls, Slack Connect governance, and eDiscovery export and retention configuration.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Teams, including the Teams Admin Center (policies, lifecycle management, calling, and app management) and Microsoft Purview (communication compliance, retention, and eDiscovery).
  • Experience administering Lark, including the Lark Admin Console (organization configuration, roles, SSO, and SCIM), the Lark Open Platform API (bot development, event subscriptions, interactive card messages, and token lifecycle), data residency and compliance configuration, App Directory governance, and eDiscovery export and retention administration.
  • Hands on experience administering Lark in a production environment (not limited to evaluation or pilot deployments), with a solid understanding of how its administration model, SCIM implementation, and Open Platform API differ from Slack Enterprise Grid and Microsoft Teams.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure and identity, including Microsoft Entra ID (group management, app registrations, and Conditional Access), SCIM provisioning, and attribute mapping.
