Content Editor & AEO Strategist
About Giftogram
Giftogram is the leading B2B digital gift card and rewards platform, helping companies send meaningful incentives, recognition, and rewards at scale. We work with enterprise clients across industries and integrate with the tools their teams already use — HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Workday, and more. We’re a fast-moving team that operates with intention, and we’re looking for someone to help us harness AI to do our best work.
About the Role
Giftogram is looking for a Content Editor & AEO Strategist to own how our content performs where buyers now start their research: AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, alongside traditional search. This position reports to the Head of Revenue and partners with sales, marketing, and customer success to decide what we publish, hold it to a high editorial and factual standard, and prove it drives pipeline.
This is not a writing role. Producing a draft has never been easier. Deciding what deserves to be written, making sure it is true, making it sound like Giftogram, and showing that it earned citations and leads is the hard part. You will spend your time editing, structuring, prioritizing, and measuring far more than drafting.
Is This Role For You?
You are a strong fit if you:
- Think like an editor, not a producer. You can take a competent 1,500-word draft and make it a better 700-word one, and explain why
- Understand how AI answer engines choose what to cite, and have changed a page to earn a citation
- Are rigorous about facts and comfortable telling a stakeholder that a claim cannot go out as written
- Measure yourself on outcomes (citations, traffic, pipeline), not on volume published
- Want to own a function end to end, with visibility to leadership
This is not the right fit if you:
- Are primarily motivated by writing long-form content yourself
- Prefer executing a content calendar someone else set over deciding what belongs on it
What You'll Do
- Map the questions our buyers ask AI assistants across our core use cases (employee rewards and recognition, customer loyalty and incentives, disbursements and settlements, promotions and giveaways, surveys) and decide which ones Giftogram should be the cited source for
- Edit every page before it ships for accuracy, clarity, structure, and voice; kill weak pieces and restructure strong ones
- Own the editorial standard, style guide, and QA checklist the team follows
- Verify product, redemption, pricing, and compliance claims against internal sources before publication
- Own the briefs, templates, tooling, and process that turn a target question into a publishable page, and keep improving how content gets made
- Manage site architecture for citation: hub-and-spoke structure, internal linking, schema and structured data recommendations, and refresh cadence for pages losing ground
- Track share of AI citations by topic, AI referral traffic, engagement, and assisted pipeline in HubSpot and our AEO tooling; report monthly on what worked, what did not, and what changes as a result
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in content, editorial, or SEO roles, with at least 2 years accountable for outcomes rather than output
- Hands-on experience with answer engine or generative engine optimization
- A working editor's instincts and a portfolio of before-and-after work to show for it
- Comfort using modern AI tools as part of an editorial workflow, with a clear view of where they help and where they fall short
- Fluency with HubSpot or a comparable CMS and marketing platform, GA4 or similar analytics, and at least one SEO or AEO measurement tool
- Clear, direct written communication; you will write briefs, feedback, and reports far more often than articles
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
Bonus Points
- B2B SaaS or fintech experience selling to HR, marketing, or finance buyers
- Background in payments, rewards, incentives, or gift card products
- Familiarity with schema.org markup, structured data, and technical SEO fundamentals
- Experience reviewing compliance-sensitive content (SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR language)
- Experience building or scaling a content operation, including the tooling and process behind it
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary based on experience
- Ownership of a function that directly shapes how buyers find Giftogram
- Direct access to leadership and influence over where the content program goes next
