About the Role
Giga Energy is looking for a proactive and experienced Warehouse Manager to lead operations at our Los Angeles warehouse. This pivotal role involves managing the receipt of products from our international supply chain, ensuring their efficient redistribution across the USA. The Warehouse Manager will oversee container handling, inventory management, and compliance with shipping regulations. This position is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and organization. This is a dynamic role that demands excellent coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment. The position is based onsite in our LA warehouse.
Responsibilities
Warehouse and Logistics Management:
- Build and develop a high-performing warehouse team, including recruiting, training, and managing staff through leveraging the Long Beach labor market.
- Oversee container handling, unloading, organizing, and placement using forklifts.
- Manage receipt and coordination of metal deliveries within the warehouse.
- Supervise drayage operations, ensuring efficient equipment movement with smaller forklifts.
- Lead team towards maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Inventory and Compliance
- Manage all customs paperwork and documentation for import/export operations, with a focus on Los Angeles Free Trade Zone 50 (FTZ) declarations and compliance.
- Oversee FTZ-specific processes, including proper handling of bonded goods, record-keeping, reporting, and audits to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Ensure inventory accuracy for products and spare parts, cooperating with internal teams to mitigate supply chain issues.
- Handle defects and damages, including assessing and documenting shipping damage, coordinating returns, and managing claims processes.
Operational Support and Coordination:
- Operate warehouse equipment for material transport and organization.
- Coordinate Bills of Lading (BOLs), schedule shipments, and manage related documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align warehouse operations with production and delivery schedules.
- Provide hands-on support for daily operations to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in warehouse management, including forklift certification
- 1+ years of experience specializing in Los Angeles Free Trade Zone (FTZ) operations
- Proven experience in building and managing a warehouse team (preferred)
Availability:
- Willingness to be on-call outside regular work hours as needed.
Skills:
- Strong work ethic and sense of ownership of products and projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
