What you’ll do

As a Wiring Technician, you will be on the floor of our Long Beach Switchboard facility, playing a hands-on role in the manufacturing, winding, QC and final assembly of our switchboards. You'll be responsible for building, inspecting, and ensuring the quality of Giga’s custom-built electrical enclosures. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in precision, and wants to be a key player in building products that power mission-critical infrastructure.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our Long Beach facility. You must be willing to work in the facility full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble switchboard enclosures and interiors using various hand and power tools
  • Perform torque checks on assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and standards
  • Inspect incoming components and units for shipping damage and recommend part replacements
  • Conduct final mechanical quality checks before switchboards leave the facility
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers on shop tasks and process improvements
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to shop safety standards

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a hands-on assembly, mechanical, or electrical technician role in a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools (e.g., drills, torque wrenches, impact drivers)
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, or assembly drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Bonus points 

  • Experience with electrical panel or switchboard assembly
  • Familiarity with mechanical QC or inspection protocols
  • Prior work in an industrial, electrical, or switchgear manufacturing environment
  • OSHA 10 or other safety certifications
