What you’ll do

We are seeking an experienced Global Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our international supply chain operations. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing our import strategy for contract manufacturing activities across multiple global regions. The Global Logistics Manager will also lead and mentor a team of logistics coordinators, ensuring seamless execution of inbound shipments, compliance with global trade regulations, and cost-efficient logistics solutions.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our San Francisco, Long Beach or Houston offices. You must be willing to work in the office full-time. 

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a global import strategy to support international contract manufacturing operations.
  • Define logistics KPIs and drive continuous improvement in efficiency, cost, and service.
  • Partner with supply chain, procurement, and finance teams to align logistics operations with company objectives.

Operations & Execution

  • Oversee daily international shipping operations, including booking, routing, customs clearance, and final delivery.
  • Manage third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and import/export documentation requirements.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks related to delays, tariffs, and geopolitical issues impacting supply chains.

Team Management

  • Lead, train, and develop a team of logistics coordinators to support operational excellence.
  • Allocate responsibilities and provide guidance on best practices in import/export procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the logistics function.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track and report on global freight spend, lead times, and service levels.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify opportunities for savings and efficiency gains.
  • Maintain oversight of shipment visibility tools and reporting dashboards.

Miscellaneous

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments of raw materials and finished products.
  • Schedule and track freight with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.
  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
  • Monitor shipments in transit, proactively identifying and resolving delays or issues.
  • Work with operations, procurement, and manufacturing teams to align logistics with production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate logistics records, shipment trackers, and reporting dashboards.
  • Support warehouse and distribution teams with inbound/outbound logistics coordination.
  • Assist with logistics cost tracking, freight invoice review, and vendor performance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations, import/export rules, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in international logistics, import/export management, or global supply chain operations.
  • Strong understanding of global trade compliance, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
  • Proven track record of managing freight forwarders, carriers, and 3PL partners.
  • Experience leading and developing logistics teams.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and internationally.

Bonus points 

  • Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or electrical equipment supply chains.
  • Knowledge of global freight markets and Incoterms.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP or transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Spanish, Mandarin, or other language skills to support international logistics.
