Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join GigaGrid, working directly with the product engineering team, and focusing on hardware engineering for clean tech, renewables and battery energy storage products.
This role is part of the support team that services the entire our Endeavour ecosystem and contributes to the overall health and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- Research, design, and develop full electrical hardware design lifecycle activities for product suite, from concept to deployment.
- Responsible for leading the activities around engineering analysis, prototyping, test, validation and documentation and full production release.
- Design, validate and debug complex hardware prototypes during new product introduction sprints.
- Perform type testing, batch testing, and QA/QC checks on mass produced electronic hardware at different stages of the projects.
- Develop new cutting-edge sensors, electronic modules that support GigaGrid‘s and Endeavour’s evolving needs.
- Assist in validating firmware/embedded software for different hardware products.
- Participate in engineering design reviews before releases at various stages.
- Work and support cross-functional teams of hardware, firmware, software and mechanical engineers throughout the engineering and system integration efforts.
Up to 10% domestic travel required for Vendor (manufacturing partners, suppliers) relationship, client product delivery etc.
Hybrid work arrangement. Telecommuting available up to 2 days per a week.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering, foreign equivalent or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in job offered, Hardware Design Engineer or related occupations.
Specific Skills / Abilities
Position requires two (2) years of experience in:
- Programming language such as Python or C++/C,
- Reverse engineering inclu. PCB design, quality testing, and circuit simulations,
- Embedded systems,
- FPGAs with sensors, ADCs/DACs, and comms (UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet),
- Simplicity Studio/Mbed for Cortex-M microcontrollers,
- Verification/validation across the product lifecycle,
- LabVIEW,
- PCB eCAD (Altium or equivalent)
- Electrical DFM and DFA experience
- Hands on circuit testing, debugging, soldering/rework; and
- Managing complex product assembly documentation, BOM, instructions etc.
