ABOUT THE ROLE
The Procurement Assistant plays a crucial role within our Procurement Team, contributing to the efficiency of GILLIG’s Supply Chain. As a Procurement Assistant, you will be involved in purchase order management, supply chain coordination, and issue resolution. You will gain procurement experience while working closely with Buyers to assist them with various activities. You must be proactive and a problem solver with excellent communication skills. As a successful team member, you will be responsible for some data entry as well as complex and broad scope assignments.
As the Procurement Assistant, you will report to the Senior Director, Supply Chain.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Plan and place purchase orders with appropriate lead timesas directed by Buyers
- Manage MRO & VMI providers
- Expedite late deliveries
- Compile Information and prepare reports
- Manage assigned kits, place orders, and communicate with suppliers
- Process rejected material and secure replacementsof such material
- Review and process surplus and obsolete material
- Performs other duties, as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Arts degree, or equivalent related work experience
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in an administrative role; manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Outstanding creativity, superior initiative, judgment, and leadership skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in use of Syteline Material Resource Planning (MRP) system or similar software, preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, and walk, and occasionally kneel or squat
- Fast paced work environment including office, manufacturing floor, and warehouse settings
- As an exempt position, flexibility may be necessary to meet timely goals
- Start time 6:00 AM
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$67,000 - $275,000 /annual salary + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
