ABOUT THE ROLE
The Logistics Coordinator manages all inbound freight for our manufacturing facility. Through individual contributions and cross functional influencing, the Logistics Coordinator ensures all materials and supplies arrive on time and in a cost-effective manner.
The Logistics Coordinator identifies and leads initiatives to reduce cost and increase service while proactively resolving freight issues. Through demonstrated knowledge, the Logistics Coordinator will serve as an expert resource to the buyers, senior management, and peers in all areas of freight and logistics. This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Manage all inbound freight and logistics for the manufacturing facility and support outbound freight as required
- Identify, evaluate, select and integrate new logistics providers
- Effectively schedule all inbound freight deliveries to optimize efforts of receiving personnel
- Facilitate returnable container program and identify new cost-effective opportunities for returnable container use
- Analyze existing freight routes to ensure necessary components arrive in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Manage supplier relationships and be the point of contact for any freight and logistics issues
- Communicate cross functionally with Buyers, carriers, Suppliers and Warehouse Personnel
- Ensure the continuous improvement of quality, service, and total cost in support of business needs
- Contribute to vendor agreements, contracts, and other legal documents
- Performs other duties as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS in Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years’ experience in a freight, logistics or supply chain role
- Strong problem-solving skills, organization skills, and attention to detail
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to analyze and make decisions based off large amounts of data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of lean principles is a plus
- Proficiency in the use of Syteline MRP system is preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable
- Prior experience managing third party logistics providers is an advantage
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Standard start time: 6:00 am (negotiable)
- Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$75,000 - $275,000/annual salary + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
