ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Delivery Supervisor, this position will be responsible for overseeing and managing all bus deliveries and ensuring full compliance with DOT regulations and company standards are met. This role requires strong leadership in managing drivers, coordinating logistics providers, and influencing cross-functional teams to guarantee that all buses successfully complete required testing routes and are delivered on time, safely, and in the most cost-effective manner. With oversight of GILLIG drivers, logistic providers, and cross-functional influencing, the Delivery Supervisor will ensure all buses are delivered on time and in the most cost-effective manner.
The ideal candidate is an adaptable and strategic problem solver who can effectively manage competing priorities and shifting timelines. They must possess strong leadership skills, the ability to optimize driver performance, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and operational excellence. The high visibility of this role provides exposure to all levels of the organization, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on daily operations. This role reports to the Senior Director, Supply Chain.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Oversee and support drivers, ensuring they adhere to all safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage driver schedules and coordinate deliveries to align with business priorities.
- Work closely with Sales, Production, and Customers to ensure proper documentation, compliance, and on-time delivery.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce costs, enhance service, and improve overall delivery performance.
- Engage with leadership across the organization, provide insights and solutions that drive continuous improvement in delivery operations.
- Facilitate documentation of delivery requirements.
- Negotiate vendor agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Performs other duties as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Transportation Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in freight, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management, including direct oversight of logistics providers.
- Proven leadership in performance management, including coaching, training, and evaluations.
- Strong conflict resolution skills to manage driver concerns, scheduling challenges, and operational issues.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail to drive operational efficiency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Salesforce Experience preferred.
- Ability to analyze and make decisions based off large amounts of data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, and walk, and occasionally kneel or squat.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
- Fast-paced work environment.
- Standard start time 6:00 AM
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$75,000 - $275,000 / annual salary + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
