ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Electromechanical Engineer specializing in troubleshooting to effectively lead root cause analysis and identify improvements for NPI development projects like the zero emission transit bus programs. In this role, you will have high visibility within the broader GILLIG organization while working within a dynamic, fast paced manufacturing environment. As a key contributor as a Senior Electromechanical Engineer, you'll come with a strong desire to be hands-on when determining if an issue is design, assembly, or supplier quality related. You will be led directly by the Director, Quality Engineering.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Collaborate with design engineering to assure quality is designed in at concept and design reviews
- Analyze data, triage situation and create Paretos to help set priorities for the team
- Conduct root cause analysis on outstanding customer issues to quickly resolve and develop process improvements for manufacturing and supplier processes if applicable.
- Identify and develop processes in partnership with manufacturing engineering to proactively mitigate production quality issues before delivery.
- Responsible for failure analysis testing of complex electrical and mechanical components and driving quality improvements into the design
- Responsible for 7 Step Issue Management process and influencing quality improvements in design engineering
- Drive issue resolution from root cause analysis to countermeasure implementation on electromechanical components and use analytical tools and techniques
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
- 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as an electrical or mechanical engineer
- Able to effectively lead quality engineers in technical projects and issues
- Knowledge and experience in reliability test, APQP/PPAP, as well as applying quality tools such as 8D, Root-cause analysis, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with multimeter, oscilloscopes, hand tools, basic power tools, and soldering systems.
- Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed signal circuit design and analysis
- Design and develop equipment and machinery that use both electrical and mechanical technology
- Proficient at reading schematics and troubleshooting
- Ability to understand complex problems and collaborate with others to provide effective solutions
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
- Up to 20% domestic travel required visiting customers, assisting suppliers’ trouble-shooting components at customers, or supplier component validation
- Standard start time: 5:00 AM to align with production
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$75,000 - $275,000 /annual salary + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
