ABOUT THE ROLE
As the National Sales Manager, Parts you will be a creative leader as a GILLIG ambassador and responsible for the development and achievement of parts sales. You will be responsible to build, maintain and grow relationships with major customers to drive parts sales and increase revenue. This role involves developing strategic account plans, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction across your assigned territory. The ideal candidate for this role would reside in either the Midwest or East Coast. The National Sales Manager, Aftermarket works under the general direction of the Director, Parts Sales.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Visit transit properties in assigned region throughout the United States and Canada on a regular basis to advance company goals
- Identify, establish and maintain customer relationships and satisfaction
- Collaborate and coordinate with inside Parts Sales team and Bus Regional Sales Managers to support client needs and execute strategic plans
- Create and implement strategic plans to achieve specific account goals and drive growth
- Identify, track and close customer sales opportunities in Salesforce
- Analyze data to track performance, identify trends and make informed decisions
- Identify opportunities to increase the value from existing accounts by upselling, cross-selling products, cross referencing products and applicable services.
- Understand and communicate competitor pricing and marketing strategy
- Pursue and obtain parts orders and payment as necessary
- Attend conferences, customer events, and bid openings as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Transportation, Business Administration, and/or equivalent work experience (Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred)
- 7+ years in sales, account management or business development experience within heavy duty equipment and/or experience within the public transportation industry focused on large project management
- Individual must be knowledgeable in automotive design
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Must be able to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients at all levels is crucial.
- Need to be able to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- NAM must be able to identify and resolve issues that may arise with clients
- Computer skills including MS Office and Salesforce, or similar CRM system is required
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally kneel or squat
- Working environment is customer’s maintenance shops and/or outdoors
- Standard start time: 7:00AM (negotiable)
- Extensive travel (plane and vehicle) - minimum of 75% across the United States and Canada
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$75,000 - $170,000/annual salary + bonus + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
