ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of Part Sales will play a critical role in leading the overall success and profitability of our Parts Division within our Aftermarket Parts organization by developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth to achieve sales objectives, lead and cultivate a high-performing sales team by fostering a culture of excellence, and identify opportunities for continuous department and organizational improvement.
To support organizational objectives, the Director will be deeply involved in cross-functional collaboration, partnering with various organization stakeholders and the broader GILIG company while having the autonomy to innovate, implement transformative initiatives, build strong teams, ultimately leaving a long-lasting impact on organizational success and customer satisfaction.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Lead the overall strategic development and implementation of comprehensive pasts sales strategies that align with the company’s growth targets, capitalizes on market trends & opportunities, and adapts to the competitive landscape
- Identify market trends and emerging opportunities to optimize customer opportunities to expand the company’s parts business
- Establish short-term and long-term sales goals, ensuring the consistent achievement of revenue and profitability targets
- Optimize the end-to-end parts sales process by strategically overseeing the entire process from lead generation, quoting, order fulfillment, and after-sales support
- Partner with operations and supply chain to optimize inventory levels, product availability, and delivery timelines
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), providing clear, data-driven insights into sales performance, pipeline health, and forecasting accuracy enabling strategic adjustments to streamline sales operations and improve efficiency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction, loyalty, and the effective resolution of any major issues and develop customer segmentation strategies to maximize account potential
- Develop and manage annual sales, oversee pricing strategies, discounting, and margin analysis to ensure sustainable profitability
- Evaluate sales channels and partnerships to optimize revenue streams and identify and mitigate financial risks associated with sales operations
- Collaborate with marketing to design and execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and customer outreach initiatives and provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings as needed
- Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making, implement best practices in sales methodologies, automation, and process optimization, and remain current with industry trends, market shifts, and technological advancements affecting parts sales
- Embrace innovation to drive creative solutions, consistently achieving ambitious results with a clear focus on objectives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- MBA or relevant advanced degree is highly desirable
- 7+ years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within part sales or a related industry (public transportation, automotive, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or related industry)
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies that deliver measurable results
- Strong organizational and project management skills, able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, analyze P&L statements, and drive profitability
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills abilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, with strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and process automation platforms
- Customer-focused approach with a Passion for delivering outstanding service and building lasting relationships at all levels
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally kneel or squat
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Working environment is customer’s maintenance shops and/or outdoors
- Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, (i.e. safety glasses, bump caps, hearing protection, etc.)
- Extensive travel (plane and vehicle) - minimum of 50% across the United States and Canada
- Standard start time: 7:00 a.m. (negotiable)
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$/75,000 - $275,000annual salary + bonus + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
