An overview of this role
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you'll help customers in the Paris territory solve complex technical challenges and shape long-term success with GitLab. Reporting to the Senior Manager on the Solutions Architects team, you'll act as a trusted technical advisor for assigned accounts by building end-to-end technical strategy, guiding multi-team transformation initiatives, and connecting customer needs to the value of GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform. This is a high-impact role for someone who can combine deep product knowledge, market awareness, and practical customer engagement to support complex opportunities across the region.
You'll have the chance to lead strategic conversations that influence technical direction, competitive positioning, and adoption planning. In your first year, success will look like building strong technical relationships across your accounts, creating clear customer success plans, and helping teams navigate broad integration and transformation scenarios with confidence.
What you’ll do
- Lead technical strategy for assigned accounts, acting as a trusted technical advisor across complex customer engagements.
- Facilitate high-value customer sessions such as value stream workshops and business value discussions to align technical solutions with customer goals.
- Develop and execute technical approaches for multi-team, multi-year transformation initiatives involving GitLab.
- Drive competitive analysis and technical positioning for complex opportunities within the Paris territory.
- Collaborate with sales, product, and cross-functional teams to address integration challenges, refine account plans, and represent customer requirements.
- Create customer success plans that support adoption, expansion, and long-term technical outcomes.
- Mentor Solutions Architect team members and contribute to team learning through shared practices, coaching, and knowledge exchange.
- Improve GitLab documentation, demonstrations, and customer-facing technical conversations based on product knowledge, customer feedback, and market trends.
What you’ll bring
- Experience solving technical customer issues with broad scope and high complexity across enterprise environments.
- Ability to build and communicate end-to-end technical strategy for assigned accounts, including transformation planning and adoption guidance.
- Knowledge of the GitLab platform and how DevSecOps capabilities connect across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Experience leading workshops and guiding customer conversations that uncover needs, clarify value, and move complex engagements forward.
- Capability to work across sales, product, and other teams to resolve integration questions and support account strategy.
- Skill in competitive positioning, market awareness, and translating industry trends into practical opportunity strategy.
- Strength in mentoring peers, sharing knowledge asynchronously, and contributing to documentation and team learning.
- Openness to candidates with transferable experience from technical consulting, architecture, platform engineering, or related customer-facing roles.
About the team
The Solutions Architects team helps customers understand how to use GitLab to solve complex technical and business challenges across the software delivery lifecycle. The team works closely with sales, product, and other GitLab teams to guide technical strategy, support adoption planning, and address integration needs for customer accounts. As part of a globally distributed, all-remote organization, the team collaborates asynchronously through documentation, issues, merge requests, and internal communication channels, while sharing knowledge across regions. The team is focused on helping customers navigate transformation initiatives, strengthening technical positioning in competitive opportunities, and turning customer feedback into better outcomes for both customers and the platform.
